Default Melbourne Airport - Help

Ive got an interview in Melbourne 2mora at 1030am. Im due to arrive at Tullamarine at 830am. I plan on gettin the skybus from the airport to southern cross station, then either a taxi or walk to 303 collins street (from map near collins elizabeth intersection). in terms of times, is this acheivable - catch skybus at say 8.40/50, and get to where i need to be by 1030? if not, is taxi the way to go??? Any help appreciated.

You should be okay.......

Walking should take you 20 to 25 minutes from Southern Cross Station to 303 Collins Street, Melbourne.

Use www.whereis.com.au to work out distance and times by inputting your destination "303 Collins Street, Melbourne, Vic" then select get directions then input from "spencer street, melbourne, vic" whihc is the road Southern Cross Station is on.

It will show you a map and times, you can either pic by car or by foot.

Hope this helps

GOOD LUCK

spencer street station is now called southern cross station, but nobody except the voiceover on the trains themselves call it that =)

All new and worse than before, I will always call it Spencer st station.

Skybus is the way to go from Tulla to Spencer st, probably be quicker than a Taxi as the bus won't get lost . Quickest way to get from Spencer to 303 Collins is hop on a Tram and go straight down collins on that.

Trams are not free you do have to pay, they have a ticket machine (it only takes coins). I dont use public transport if I can avoid it.

My thoughts if your flying in for an interview it must be a good job.

Don't risk it grab a taxi. peak hour will be over so you won't get stuck.

Bus back is OK.

I'd be catching a Taxi if I were you, I used to fly in and out of melbourne to WA all of the time not long ago when I was living in Melbourne but working here in WA at a Nickel Mine, yes the bus is quick but with such a tight schedule if you miss the bus and have to wait a full 15 mins for the next one you might be late....

I used to catch the Sky buses both ways and on the odd times a taxi, if the trains ran late, taxi was alot quicker. only cost about 40 bucks from memory......

and of course your assuming the flight will be on schedule aswell.....

Good luck with the interview....
