I was quoted $720 to lower my BA ute today. Anyone know of a place in the ACT that won't rip me off?

Try Revell's?
Talk to Vince at Injekt'd, he'll get you a good price.

Of course, if you can get the front springs at trade price (say around $110 to $120) and go with a Whiteline 38mm lowering block kit @ $80-90 instead of reset leaves, you could do it for less than $200 if you do the fitting yourself. Even at full retail price, the springs and blocks would be around $250. I'm more than happy to lend a hand with the fitting, as I've done both my XR and the wagon myself, and it's almost second nature now (but I still use the book, just so I don't forget anything). Only thing you would need to get elsewhere is a wheel alignment. I used to use Revell in Fyshwick 62805610 (sad that I didn't have to look that up - it's firmly engrained in my memory, lol) until I learnt to do stuff myself. Ask for Ian Moon.

I lowered my AU XR8 ute with no probs. That was when I was in Vic and could get things at cost. Reset rear spings for $150 c/o and about the same for the front. I might just wait till I'm in Vic next and do it then or possibly get the gear freighted up.
