Jeez I love these guys who think NOS is combustible. Newsflash - Nitrous Oxide cannot catch fire.

I love this quote that one guy responded with

"usually when rice burns it sticks to the bottom of the pot."

When a NOS line bursts in a fuel fire though......I guess when the floor pan blew to bits it ripped a hole in the fuel line, that sprayed fuel all over the exhaust, went up in flames, NAAAAWWWWWSSSSSSS bottle was next to the fuel tank, it heated up, blew a hole in it and then we have pictures.

That little trail of fire on the road looks like an oil fire to me.... my guess is he was on the nos, blew the bottom end out of the motor (put a rod through the block, or sump, or holed a piston and lit the sump up) and lit it up on the hot turbine housing..... Looks like as the fire spread the Nos bottle exploded under pressure, like a spray can in a bonfire,.... 4th shot down you can see a new object on the road behind the car... top of the bottle perhaps?

holy shit....poor bastard....just lost the car that had so much work put into it etc.....on the site it said that it was the chicks car, in the white top....but then says its not a daily driver etc.....if thats the case, and she's that much of an enthusiast, you'd think she would have been driving it....

some may laugh at this happening because its a "ricer" but it probably goes hard, and it was someones pride and joy.

A bit of touch up paint should fix that up!!! A new set of tryes, if he feels the need though coz them seem a little bald in the last picture.

Looks like I was (most of us in fact) wrong. a Quote from the dude himself:

It has three brackets that bolt to the fuel rail and then the otherside of the bracket bolts to the head. The bolts that bolt to the fuel railed came out and let the fuel rail move enough to unseat the injectors and spray fuel into the engine back. Per the video the second bang is a back fire which ignited the fuel and started the fire. We talked to Aeromotive today and they said the bolts are supposed to have loctite from the factory.

The reason i took so long to slow the car and get out is i didn't realize it was on fire until flames kissed me feet. PLus the engine had already stalled and with no power brakes it is kinda hard to stop. I didn't smell anything burning and thought the white smoke i saw was oil smoke so i steered for the side of the track to get out of the groove.

There were no frantic adjustments made before this pass. John Shepherd was helping us out to adjust the shift linkage on the car because it was all out of whack and would not let me shift into 3rd or 4th very easily. The car was run down the track with no nitrous to make sure the alignment was on. The next run it went 11.0 @ 108 missing third and coasting after third because i had no 4th. I can tell you right now this car was way faster than last years car. I was only runnign 32 psi and a 100 shot versus 36 psi and 150shot from last year when i went 10.1 @ 141.

I still reckon the floor pan falling out had something to do with it!

You realise when the guy said the floor pan came off, he was just poking fun at F&F, right? I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, damn internet!
