After seeing the Chrysler and Ford concept cars how about this one.
It seems it's one of MB's concept cars from the mid '90's. From the outside it's relatively normal, but on the inside.. well lets just say that you can throw away your MOMO steering wheels  (Sorry if it's a repost but I hadn't seen it before  For the sake of the 56k people and to avoid wasting bandwith I'll only post one pic. interesting that you could drive it from either side, with an LCD dash that runs the length of the cabin and the layout is mirrored!
Dont know how youd go driving a car with a joystick though... |

oh.. thats the one that you plug that cable into your rear end with and steer it by putting your sphincter to good use.
That is a Terrible example of a car, it is VERY impractical in ALL aspects. |

I couldn't drive a car with a joystick, but my grandchildren probably could... now, which is the button for the Rocket Launcher?
 And for those that aren't too fussed with 'concept' cars remember the original Falcon GT started out as a demo.., I think thats before they invented the word 'concept car'

The concept is certainly interesting.
However, I am not a fan of it. I prefer Beamers. The front view isn't too bad though. The back is also ok. To me, the side view is what ruins it. The car is almost symmetrical on the side. But for a concept car, it is interesting. |

I think it was more to show the possibilities. Mercedes has been moving towards electronically controlled everything steering, brakes (although the E series had problems) and accelerator. BMW has electric steering assist that can correct in cross winds, etc. All of this means that we won’t be constrained by the architecture of pedals and a steering column if we don’t want it. SAAB has done a joystick controlled concept cars and others are sure to follow.
Year ago the late Russel Bulgin could see this coming and suggested that there already was a universally accepted interface for digital control of a car – Playstation 2 hand controller set up for GT3.

Its weird but I like it. The joystick means you no longer have to put alot of effort into making it LHD or RHD... I think.

do you guys think that we will ever get cars with joysticks? I just think that you will loose the feel of being "at one" with the vehicle, then again.... I have never driven a car with a joy stick. The rims look liek those pasta strainers.

styling looks like the current s class... lol
even most mercedes for a while have been using electronic dipsticks... just pour certain amount in and the dash tells you the rest... then drive it for a while until it reaches certain temp etc, and park it on level ground... |

The bulge in the centre of the dash, looks like they've just rounded up a heap of the regular switches from existing models and just crammed them all around what looks like a push-button gear selelctor pad. The car looks like its been through the 'Pimp My Ride' garage.
