When you make statements like this, make sure you check the fact's first.

ANZAC troops did NOT fight under the Royal Blue Ensign until Vietnam (maybe late Korea?) prior to that, our forebears were slaughtered under either the Union Jack (like all other Commonwealth Forces) and occasionally under the Red Ensign. However, the Red Ensign was too 'communist' for Menzies hence the search for a new national flag culminating in the Royal Blue Ensign just after the war.

If you watch historical footage of the VJ parade's and they're in colour you will see all the small flag's being waved are Red Ensigns and Union Jacks. We were British Citizen's until the early 1970's after all.

The flag hasnt been banned. They are just requesting people not to bring it along.

Lets all take the Aussie flag to a concert because that's the hip thing to do even though it has nothing to do with the concert :

Still have no idea why you would take it in the first place.
