theres a game called 'kkreiger' or something i think, made by a german group, and its around 100kb but its an amazingly detailed first-person shooter. its kind of short and not exactly rivetting, lol, but its quite amazing if you look at the texture detail, the lighting and shading effects, bump mapping and music and everything, yet its only 100kb

Depends what sort of game you're after... Puzzle, cards, action, FPS (not really likely in that sort of space), simulation, etc...
I like Bridge Builder, and at 122 K, it won't take long to download: http://www.bridgebuilder-game.com/bb-files.php I also like Bantumi, after becoming addicted to it on my Nokia 3315, and at 276 K in size, it's not exactly huge: http://www.andybell.ch/e_bantumi.htm

You might need a soundblaster emulator to be able to run sound out of your modern XP running machine (assumption) as I do, I just google searched and it came up, free download, right click on the exe file when installed and it will run the game within the emulator and allowd you to play the old skool Midi based sound. Aaah the nostalgia.

Atomic Cannon is a great game. You play against another person, or the computer, and you take turns taking pot shots at the other guys tank. You have to set your trajectory by correctly setting your turrett angle and power and fire away. There's a variety of weapons from simple shells to acid rockets to nukes (mmm, nukes...).
It's shareware but the demos are very playable and there's a version for both Windows (2.87 MB) and Pocket PC (1.42 MB). http://isotope244.com/atomic_cannon_pocket.html

Old Shareware / Abandonware ====================== You may need to download a program to slow down your computer for any of the games in shareware or the sections below depending on how fast it is.. Zone 69 (not what your thinking) Solar Winds Bio Menace DOOM Stunts (I cant stress this enough) Test Drive 2 Skyroads Raptor Monster Bash Emu === Grab some emulators for old ataris, arcade games, sega, nintendo - whatever. Arcade games are very very fun because they almost always are streetfighter type games (the simpsons arcade game was pretty dodgy!) but almost all emus for old systems are under 100k each!

Wow, this thread has brought back soo many old memories....
I remember the day when Apogee, California Games and Accolade made some of the best games, around the same time when I was buying 386 Parts from computer swapmeets for $50 per motherboard ahh the simple days when PC's were indate for longer than a month

Ahh yes, can't go wrong with a copy of WinUAE, a Kickstart 1.3 ROM image and some classic Amiga games...

Ahh yes, forgot to add SimAnt to my list :p
There was an old Addams Family game on nintendo (NES, not SNES) that was great fun to play, I can't remember much of it though :( Super MarioKart has got to be THE rom to get though ;) ;) ;) Closely followed by Altered Beast... :ticking: -Dave- |

Wulfram II - One of the best free multiplayer, action-strategy games. Graphics are a bit out dated but very addicting! Link: http://www.wulfram.com/ Size: 21.4MB Soldat - Online 2D multiplayer game. The graphics might not look much but when you play it, it won't matter because its way fun. It's a cross between counter strike and worms. Link: http://www.soldat.pl/ Size: 11.7MB MuOnline - MMORPG. Basically same type of gameplay as Diablo i guess. Graphics are pretty good. Gets borring at times doing the same thing over and over again... Link: http://www.muonline.com/ There are other private servers you can play at such as SupaMu: http://www.supamu.info/ (link isn't working for me at the moment). Size: (too lazy too find it) Gunbound - You basically taking turns shooting, like worms. Graphics to me looked too much child friendly :P Link: http://gunbound.net/ Size: (too lazy too find it) Ragnarok Online - Another MMORPG. Since the last time i played it about 2-3 years ago in my opinion sucked because the characters look crap it was as if they just drew it by hand and put it into the game. Link: http://www.ragnarokonline.com/ Size: (too lazy too find it) Priston Tales - Yet again another MMORPG. I won't say much... Graphics are pretty good. Link: http://eng.pristontale.com/ Size: (too lazy too find it) America's Army - FPS. I don't know much about this game i have not played it yet but i hear it's good (my computer was too sucky to play this). Link: http://www.americasarmy.com/ Size: (too lazy too find it) Savage: The Battle for Newerth - Won't say much... Graphics are nice. Link: http://www.s2games.com/savage/ Size: (too lazy too find it) Sorry for my lazyness. :P I need to get started on my homework and i feel tired and sleepy and it's getting quite late. Well that's all i remember right now, i'll probably post more later if you are still interested. |
