Default Window Tint Film

Quick question. Anyone bought, used, or had any experince with this window tint film stuff that you can buy in rolls, and tint the windows of your car yourself. Basically you cut it to shape, stick it on and use the special squeezer thing to get rid of an air bubbles, correct? Is it any good? Does it last long? Do you have to remove the windows to apply it? I wouldn't think so, it'sd be too much of a hassle and windows aren't the easiest thing to remove.

I'm not planning on buying any but I've seen 3m by 0.5m rolls of it on trademe (like ebay) for $8.00, so I was wondering if it's any good (see link below).
