I wouldn't do it. Oem rubber hoses on my BA, no leaks. Oem rubber hoses on my wife's Corolla, no leaks. Oem hoses on my father in laws 97 hilux, you guessed it no leaks. Rubber forms a better deal, especially over time. That's why they can be a **** to get off. Silicone on my XF? 2 clamps either end and still wept like a mother watching her kid go off for its first day of school.

Have also heard that water can be lost through silicone, leaving the antifreeze behind. No idea if this is true though.
