Hi. All ford and mazda lighter sockets since the 80's have had a thermal fusible link on the rear of the socket as well as the fuse in the fuse box. If you look on the back of the socket there is a short black wire going between 2 terminals and this will have melted inside the insulation, you just need to solder a short bit of wire to the 2 terminals to replace the melted one.
