There are more options than K&N.

Have you considered a Unifilter-brand filter. These are a foam element filter akin to what is used on motocross bikes. They claim to have equal flow as K&N with smaller particulate retention (20 vs 4 microns).

I fitted one of these to my ED and was very impressed - notable increase in throttle response and better fuel economy.

These tend to cost less than K&N and are an Australian product.
