The way i done it, was drain all the coolant out the radiator, fill with tap water and add a little radiator flush, or washing soda diluted in hot water which i hear works wonders, in the coolant bottle, run the car for 20 minutes with the aircon on full blast, then wait for coolant to cool down, or be very careful and drain again, do this twice maybe 3 times if you want to make sure all the crud is out, then fill with coolant and distilled water, run the car for about 10 minutes with the cap on loosely to let the air bleed, then tighten up and you ready to go.
