Hello all,
Planning for the 4th ANNUAL ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE is well underway, and as such another date for your diary. The event will be similar to the 2013, with large array of judging categories, a live band, as well as many other activities throughout the day. What: The 4th ANNUAL ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE When: Sunday 30th November 2014 Where: The Fleet Air Arm Museum, Albatross Rd, Nowra Hill Time: 10am-3pm (THE GATES OPEN AT 8:00AM AND CLOSE AT 9:30AM FOR ENTRANTS). For those members heading down to this show, I received the info below from the organisers this week - should hopefully be of some use to you.
JB LESS THAN 2 WEEKS TO GO! As the date draws near, it is timely to reflect that the 4th ANNUAL ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE is a CHARITY event. As such, all funds raised will be donated to TWO very deserving Children Charities. These are the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) http://www.jdrf.org.au, and the Australian Leukodystrophy Support Group Inc (ALDS) http://www.alds.org.au/?n=1 REMINDERS: • The 4th ANNUAL ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE is scheduled for 30th November 2014, and once again it will be conducted at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Albatross Rd, Nowra Hill, between 10am-3pm (THE GATES OPEN AT 8:00AM AND CLOSE AT 9:30AM FOR ENTRANTS). • Don't forget that Pre-Registration close this coming Sunday the 23rd of November 2014. • If you plan on attending as an Entrant, and you haven't already pre-registered can we urge you to do so. By pre-registering it will save you a fair amount of time on the day. • Can we also urge you to arrive as early as possible. Gates will open at 8am and close at 9:30am. • If you are also attending as a club can you please arrive as a club. This will ensure that we can park you as a club. LATEST NEWS: 1. Judging: Once again in 2014 the ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE ‘Judging Group’ will comprise of many local volunteers, who are vehicle enthusiasts in their own right. The Judging Group, will be headed up by Matt from ‘Inside Rides’ South Nowra. Matt, who is an experienced renowned Judge, attends many custom car shows around Australia throughout each year, such as Summernats and MotorEx . If you see Matt or any of the judges throughout the day, please feel free to engage with them. They are certainly not off limits, and are more than happy to discuss with you any areas of concern, and provide feedback as required. As organisers we wish to make it known, that all judging is open and transparent, and if you desire for feedback, then simply please ask. Furthermore, if you are unsure of the ‘Judging Guidelines’ that the Judges are adhering to, then once again please ask Matt, who will only be too happy to show you a copy. Finally as organisers, we wish to thank the Judging Group in advance for volunteering their time, for which is a long and laborious task. 2. Shorter entry times in 2014 - Gate Entry on the day: The process of entry for 2014 ENTRANTS will be significantly shorter than in previous years, which will be a welcome relief, especially for owners’ whose vehicles have a tendency to get hot and bothered. Entry on the day will be $20, so if you can have this ready to pay, it will also assist is an even Shorter Entry Times overall. Once you have paid you will be given a "Show Bag" and an "OFFICIAL DAY ENTRY FORM". You will then be directed to the Show Field for parking. Once parked, and if you wish to have your vehicle judged, please proceed to the "REGISTRATION TENT" with your completed "OFFICIAL DAY ENTRY FORM" for Registration. The "REGISTRATION TENT" will be located on the Western side of the Show Field, next to the 'Shannons Super Rig'. You will then be given a Colour Coded Sticker to place on the top Right Hand Side of your windscreen, for Cars, or on the Headlight for Motorcycles. It is this Colour Coded Sticker that the Judging Group will be looking for. 3. SPL Audio Competition: There will also be an SPL Audio Competition run in parallel with the 4th ANNUAL ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE. The SPL Audio Competition will be Sponsored and Conducted by Image Car Electronics, from Sanctuary Point NSW 2540. The following Categories will make up the 4th ANNUAL ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE - SPL Audio Competition: • 120.0db to 129.9db • 130.0db to 139.9db • 140.0db to 149.9db • 150.0db to 159.9db • SPL Encouragement Award 4. Veterans MC South Coast Chapter: The Veterans MC - SCC has joined the 4th ANNUAL ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE Sponsorship Group for 2014, and we thank them for their commitment. On the day they will be selling tickets for their 2014 Major Raffle and the Flyer is also attached. So please also get behind the MC - SCC and purchase a ticket for a chance to win. 5. Live Band: This years live band “Blutung” is proudly presented by Capital Q Entertainment . www.capitalqentertainment.com.au “Blutung” will be supported by “Sound Solutions” audio. During one of their sets, “Blutung” will be joined by the Rock N Roll dancers from “Born 2 Boogie”, https://www.facebook.com/borntoboogierocknroll 6. NGK Spark Plug Challenge: Also once again for 2014 is the kids 'Spark Plug Challenge', supported by NGK Spark Plugs. This is open to all kids between the ages of 6-17 split between four age groups. The challenge is timed, and what the kids need to do is conduct an NGK Spark Plug change out on a pair of V6 Heads....obviously in the shortest period of time. Entry into the NGK 'Spark Plug Challenge' is a gold coin donation, and there are four Trophy's to be won. So c'mon kids, start practicing now! 7. Fleet Air Arm Museum: The Fleet Air Arm Museum has kindly once again donated a 'Free Family Pass' for all Entrants on the day. This Pass will entitle ALBATROSS SHOW N SHINE Entrants, Free Entry into the FAAM, so you can explore the many historical aspects of Naval Aviation (RRP $20). 8. Bosko Racing: Josh from 'Bosko Racing' will once again be in attendance with his super sedan (SS/AA) gas, nostalgia XA GT Falcon coupe. powered by a 383 cubic inch small block ford, and throughout the day Josh will be firing up the Big Bad Falcon for your enjoyment. 9. 1/4 scale jet Dragster: Brett will once again be in attendance with his 1/4 Scale “afterburning” turbine powered ¼ scale jet Dragster, and throughout the day Brett will be firing up the Dragster for your enjoyment. 10. St Johns Ambulance will also be in attendance if needed: 11. Couple updates of the green machine. Turns out I didn't get to park with the club but was lucky enough to get 2nd place in best ute. Also run my stereo up in the SPL comp just to see what it would pull and got an unofficial 133.4db which suprised myself and a few other guys. Had more in it and was tuned for SQ So can't complain |
