Default Possible Suspension Upgrade

Hi Guys,

I have ordered the following for my 2009 FG XR6 Turbo:

Brembo 6/4 setup
DBA T3 rotors
braided lines
19 inch Dark Argents 245 35 19

My insurance would only insure me if I purchased items that could be ordered from factory.

Since I have 110k I was thinking that I would need to upgrade the bushes and coilovers.

Could you possible advise which parts would need upgrading and whether you can install everything. If I do it my self, would I need a total alignment done?

regards
Sam

Hi Sam,

You have to drop the entire rear end suspension if you want to change all of the bushes there. Definitely not an easy job and it requires a hoist and a hydraulic press. The diff bushes are the main ones to consider as they are the first ones to let go which also is a very common issue with these Falcons. You definitely need an alignment done if you put on new tyres and coilovers.

cheers

You don't need an alignment for the diff bushes.

I suggest you to inspect all of the front and rear bushes and replace them if necessary... Some of the bushes might be stuffed after 110ks. If you are planing to replace the diff bushes, you may want to replace the rest of the rear end bushes while the cradle is down in order to save time and money... Also check for oil leak from the diff itself. You can also sort the diff leakage while the cradle is down.
