Actually, its an F-650, and they aren't made by ford... they are a custom built unit (from a donar 450 i think)... see here:

LINK

But There are many more companies out there doing this conversion now...

You guys realise they are used for mostly for towing? Usually a race car or a dragcar or similar.
They are far and away not useless when used in that manner on Interstate trips.

Its no more useless than driving a four door sedan when you're the only passenger.

Since when do you need a truck that size to tow a car?

This thing is simply the american "Bigger is better" way of thinking. Anyone driving one has a tiny knob.

of topic but the sand on that beach is very hard, it's got probably near 3 ton on it and hardly any tracks. The beaches around hear are very soft and your tires have to be about 14lbs to get off.

No, car companies make vehicle to sell to people who want to buy them not for people who make sensible decissions.

USA is not the only place where dropkicks buy giant cars that have no sensible use. Habe you never been to the urban areas of every city and seen the four wheel drive armada?

Can you imagine? Kenworth trucks would need diff replacments every 30,000k's, Dump trucks would be dumping tranie fluid all the time, and tanks would need constant bearing replacement on all the wheels for the cat tracks... lol...
