Default EL fairmont ride height

im a bit of a novice so go easy on me and my stupid question.

I lowered my car 1.5 inches using Kings superlows(rear) lows (front) bout 7-8 months ago, but didnt get the shocks changed. With nearly 196000kms the factory shocks have finally given up on me, so earlier this week i went down to jax/quikfit to get new shocks. I was told to get the Monroe gas front struts and gas rear shocks, supplied and fitted for $500...

I am very happy with the ride now, stiff, without being uncomfortable, and no body roll, BUT the car now looks like its a 4wd, the ride height looks horrible, what are my options? Can something be done to the existing springs to bring it down a bit? or do i have to purchase new springs and lower it 2-2.5 inches to make it look right again.

here is a pic of my car before the new shocks went in.

thanks in advance

russell

I think you can get short stroke shockers but I'm not an expert.

Couldve got shortened shocks... Otherwise if you're not willing to spend more on lowering it further, than you can cut the springs, which is illegal, and in some cases not as comfortable. Only other option is get ultralows . Ultra lows are illegal aswell i think.

sounds to me the shop fit the wrong spec struts, I'd go back to them, tell them you want it the same height you had it before, and not pay a thing for it either.

ah i hate it how people call them struts...they are dampers or shocks...lol

But yeah, i told my local garage, who is a pedders outletbut they dont advertise it, that i wanted my ghia slammed.

I told him that I was just going to chuck some King SL's in, he said nah, better off saving some more and getting some pedders equivelent and some short travel shocks. Also with pedders stuff you get a 2 year warrenty. For a little bit extra its probably worth it in the long run. I actually hate pedders, but its local stuff that is made a bit better.

I got qouted roughly 700 for the entire thing, including shimms etc etc, so im saving my $$ do to the lot.

I know you can get away with just throwing the springs in, but might aswell go the whole hog IMO.
