Default What is great about Australia, and what isn't

I am asking this respectfully,
about what are the best and worst things about Australia.
I am familiar with some of the Fords (FPV in particular),
but I am asking taxes, laws, areas good and bad,
what Territories are maybe better than others and so forth.
I am not attempting to stir the pot or start arguments.
The reason I inquire, is from what I know at this point,
I may want to relocate or have an extended visit.
Thanks!

Great weather, great holiday locations, great fords, No hummers(mostly) and no bling bling everywhere you look(although rice is makin its way around)
great women, good beaches lots of trees and and greenery.
once you get far enough out of a city you can drive for a day or 2 and not see a single town(central aus)

Minus-
craphouse roads in NSW(cant speak for other states)
billions of signs dictating what we're supposed to do or not do
umpteen speed camera's every 5 km's u drive

I left Australia for work and have been gone for 5 and a half months.
Now I thought Australia was a great place and being away from it I can confirm that Australia is awesome.....there is a reason people are cueing up to get in.

BAD:

Youth of Australia becoming more shallow, stupid, lazier and disrespectful
No apprecation of relative affluence
Toyota
Springvale
Stupid road rules
Bad drivers/poor driver culture in Australia
Collingwood Football Club/Eddie McGuire (same thing)

GOOD:
Weather (no extremes)
Nature
Relatively safe
Good culture (at least in Melbourne)
Sporting choice (NBL, NRL, AFL, Netball, Women's Basketball etc.)
Cultural Mix (can't just live on McDonald's for takeaway - thank heavens for Italians. Lasagne, pizza and pasta FTW!)
Ford Australia
Geelong Football Club (my raw opinion though -clearly)
Human Rights
Sanitation
Health Care
Food
Clean Water

Lots we take for granted...

Pros:
Australia is nice and laid back and casual.
We enjoy our sports.
Some of the best, if not the best, beaches in the world.
Some great countryside to explore.
Some of the best wines in the world.
The best wine region in the world (Barossa Valley - biased opinion though. See my location :P)
Great beer, much better than the horse p*ss you guys have over there in America, apart from the microbreweries. They make some good ones. Belgium would reserve my vote as the best brewers in the world though.
Great women, as already mentioned.

Cons:
Not really too much I can think of that hasn't been mentioned already.
Our treatment of indigenous people in the past, and to some extent, now, has been appalling.
The current government and all the "global warming" crap going on at the moment.
No-one doing anything about the River Murray - SA's water lifeline.

I'd say the main good point is the relaxed easygoing culture. We're supposedly similar to Canadians as personality goes if that helps?

Try having a public meeting, or speaking out against the government in China.

Try running a farm in Zimbabwe, if you’re white.

Try being a homeless kid in Brazil, they shoot them over there.

Try being sick in the United States with no health insurance.

Try living peacefully in Darfur.

Anyone who thinks that the problems we have in this country are bad, should try living overseas for a while.

A good thing about Australia I can think of right now is the dry inland - very peaceful there, however make sure you've got enough fuel!!

Bad: current fuel prices and our media recommending Toyota P****

What is great about Australia is easy.

It's Australia and it rocks!! :

Even better if you are in Queensland cause
as we all know Queensland is the best state.

What sucks about Oz though is the amount
of dole bludging welfare using scumbags
that have no idea of what it is to work and
contribute to making this country the awesome
place that it is. :

I'm surprised no one has said it already, but we've got some of the best perforance sedans in the world at very reasonable prices. This includes both Ford and Holden, all model included with the exception of the w427. How they can slot a Z06 engine in a Commodre and charge an extra 60K is beyond me. Who in their right might would buy a Commodore over a V8 M3 sedan that's 15km cheaper!
