Default Battery/ECU?

Hello All,

I have just reconnected my battery to the AU after about 1 month of being off the car (as I have not driven it much), and there is no signs of life, the battery was put on a trickle charger and it is a maintenance free battery so it has the little green panel to say it's all good for charge.

Problem is when you connect the battery up there is no odo reading on the dash at all, and when you turn the key there is absolutely nothing, I can turn my lights on and have low/high beam. I have checked the battery terminals, wiring connections to the ECU and plugs are connected to the steering column area are all plugged in and not loose, what do you think is going on here?

Thanks

Brett

Check all your fuses etc plug them in and out a few times. You may need get a test lamp on the job and check for battery at the key etc.

Nothing is coming up on the dash at all, it usually does the "T" thing on the odo as well, but nothing is coming up.

I haven't checked the fuses yet, but would it be a relay? How often do they flog out?

Battery still can be faulty .. the green indicator runs only off one cell not all of them. I'm a battery rep and seen this a few times.

I have had the battery load tested this morning and the battery is fine, so it has to be something else, it has me stumped as to what is could be, has anyone else experienced these issues before as well?

Sounds like the battery is dead, if you have a multimeter see how many volts its putting out.

should be around 12~ if its anything below its probably stuffed.

I wonder if you may have tripped one of the breakers when you reconnected it?
If the batt did fine on a load test, then it more n likely isnt the issue..

Check for power at the key and get or print out a main power cct diagram and start chasing from the battery through the cct. You'll find it quick with a cct diagram.

did you miss any power wires as there are a couple that go to the bolt, also a fuseable link (fuse wire) these were a pretty common problem on the "E" series
