Default Sunshine coast to Geelong by road

Hi
I'm planning to move from Sunshine Coast to Geelong. And I am planning to go by road & carrying a trailer and this is not a holiday trip I wanted to get to Geelong as soon as I can (preferably in 2/3 days).

What route should I take?

Where to stay overnight?

Also looking at the current scenario do I have to obtain permissions as I will be crossing through two state borders.

Any suggestions for the trip will be highly appreciated.

I think the quickest will be via the Newell Highway. Crossing into NSW is allowed, and I believe Victoria’s borders are open.
