Default Any arcade game machine specialists on here ???

Ive got a 48 game stand up old arcade machine and the picture has gone (picture tube ???)
Just wanna know IF anyone in the Brisbane area fixes these,or maybe someone who knows whats wrong

You should be able to contact a local TV repairman. It may not be the tube itself, but one of the components such as a capacitor/transistor/tripler or something.

Even though it's a game, it's the TV side of things that's gone. It may depend, too, if they can get a circuit diagram for the machine as to whether they can fix it.

OMG.... wish I hadn't read this now. I love arcade games and pinball machines, and it's only 5-10 minutes drive from home.

picture tubes usually go blurry and out of contrast before giving up.

it will be the EHt transformer and or driver transistor....ask anyone under 18 if they can hear it "whistling" when you turn it on (15625 hertz oscillator)


if they can't it's a dead certainty the flyback/driver tranny are rooted.

You can find a suitable replacement chassis on the nature strips most days in any capital city with people throwing old perfectly working CRT TV's away
