Has anyone tried to fit an AU v8 power steering pump into an EB v8.
Pressure I think would be about the same as some have fitted AU motors into EB's and used the AU accessories (p/s, a/con, alt). Bolt location may be different but I don't think that would be a major problem. Any comments appriciated

Since no one came back with any info, I assume this has not been done before.
So there always has to be a first time. Picked up a P/steer a/c bracket and started looking what had to be done. Cut off the last bolt hole that held the p/s in and started to make a template out of aluminium. Will look at making template for rear bolt of AU p/s pump tomorrow and then see about getting some proper brackets made up.

Well after a few attempts I have a couple of templates for the front and rear of the AU pump to fit onto the EB bracket. Just have to get them made up to the right thickness, drilled, tapped and they will be right to fit on.

Hey mate,
Sorry dont frequent the forum much any more.. Yes its been done a couple of times, most opt to fit the entire AU front dress, then just adapt the Alternator plugs and get new p/s lines made up.. The entire AU belt setup sits about 8-12mm further from the motor than the EB setup, so yeah unless you make a custom bracket up to bring the pump back into alignment it will work with the EB belt setup.. Cheers, Nik

I did a comparo between an AU V8 pump and a BA I6 pump - they are identical externally, only the plastic reservoir and pulley vary's, so if you swap them over, it should work.
Just for info if you need to replace an AU V8 pump. |
