hi, i have a set of mt et streets that have done about 6 passes, the car wont be hitting the strip for 6 months or so, will they go hard? is there a way to keep them good for this time? cheers

6 months they will be fine if your concerned put them in a cool place away from light, if you know anyone who has a cellar that would be perfect....

DON'T put them in a fridge or near any electricals. under the house or somewhere that stays relatively cool is the best.

That sux *** bigtime. I was under the impression that they were legal.
Isnt that the reason they have grooves in them, to make them street compliant? I know they're useless inthe wet, I've been caught out twice in the wet coming back from a cruise. |

I thought the grooves in the MT ET's are so they are not a full on slick and can put them on the rear of your daily when you take it to the 1/4 mile and don't have to change you front tyres.
With slicks you have to match them with front runners or whatever.

Yep... Slicks require cross ply tyres up front... The MT is a street radial so any radial tyre up front will do...
I have driven a car a short distance with Slicks and radial fronts and can't imagine how some keep their cars straight at the drags!!! Maybe its me!

They are not legal here because they dont comply with the load and speed ratings of Australian tyre standards.
They are DOT approved which is the authority in the states they need to make happy. Different conditions here though. |
