Also Neris (BAGTHO) will not be racing due to his Turbo having a transmission failure. He will be riding with me and spectating.

Ring them introduce yourself and explain the setup here and they may take it on, the person ringing needs to start up a good relationship with the AIR manager..same guy needs to put the work in every week.... Show the AIR manager this site and how we do it. Last edited by SpoolMan; 15-04-2005 at 10:09 PM. |

Bah humbug.
What a crap night. Competition cars dropping oil every 20 minutes made for a boring night. There were stoppages every 20 mins of up to 45mins and 1 hour plus waits in between runs.. Plus there was zero grip! One to forget.. - Dad's XR6T ran a best of 14.05 @ 101.7MPH |

Yeah i wish they advertised that there would be comp cars at this meet. With 10-7sec cars out oil drops were far too constant. I counted 5 oil downs resulting in a huge ammount of lost time.
On another note i dont think heathcote was the problem last weekend rather my car. Only managed 15.72@89mph.(down from 15.4@90.4) My ECU just hates the 1521a cam.

The long delays were a PITA, but I still got 4 runs in which was enough for me. That was my first trip to the drags as well (to spectate or race).
GOD DAMM IT I NEED AN LSD AND A DECENT RATIO!!!!! Best for the night for me was a 14.8@95mph

That is why Ford have a good computer on the BA, because the driveline is weak so the computer was so supposed to protect it.. It works well on the Auto with its torque truncation, not one auto we know of has broken a driveline part. Problems my friends have had in there manuals, broken CV's, cracked diff housing, stock xr8 broke an axle, twisted axles in a GT from fitting a new aftermarket clutch put a big shunt through the driveline. Diff technics in NSW make a 9 inch rear end that goes into a IRS Commodore cost $3800 the matching drive shaft $2400.. |

yeah thats right, it is thinly described as a street car, but then again, i dont bother going with them, i just wait for them to **** off down the 1/4 and then i do my own run afterwards lol.
and yeah, i was moderately happy with that MissUnderstood - you in SA?! should come out and see us get creamed at AIR lol |

I got spanked every time. The other cars ran 10.5, 11.1, 14.3, and 13.0 (at 69mph!). The closest I got to winning was against the Gen 3 after he buggered up his launch. I held him 'til half way then he just pulled away. I just did the same as you - let them go then run my own race. Got a bit of shit about it from the race caller though oh yeah - and they are some nice times you ran. Sweet looking car as well!

No way...was looking foreward to hearing how Brad's car went. I think with the sedan suspension and nitto's on the back on a 1800kg car it's a lot of stress to be putting to the ground. Quite a few sedans as well as a few utes have had busted axles and diffs, tailshafs too. My clutch has just about had it and i dont think my car will see the track again, just cant afford it...and it's unfair to claim warranty as there are those with genuine claims
The guys getting edit's done on their cars will have to watch removing torque limiters as Ford has set them there for a very good reason....the combination of 500Nm+ of torque in a heavy car with driveline bits budgeted for production costs will at some point end in some sort of drama in a racing situation. |
