Talking Who has the quickest N/A unopended BA XR8

Hello,
Went to WSID today for the Ford v Holden meeting, I blew out my nominated time but hey, it was a 13.293. I know someone else is claiming to have the quickest unopened BA XR8, could mine be the quickest now? Certainly the fastest, at 108.11mph, please show me the slip to put me right. My slip is attached, thanks Simon from XtremeFordtuning for supplying the tune. I'm a novice to drag racing, there's more in her!

Craig, Awesome time, well done and your MPH is outstanding...
must have a good map in that car, good work Simon..
Sp9000's and 3.45's?
Kev has gone 13.20 but i will get that confirmed.
Your MPH suggests that you should be running a 12 sec pass very soon..
Anyway good news for all Ford owners, I am really happy for you, that MPH :king: is to die for never seen nothing like that on a 260 Boss.....
Craig update the time slip forum...

Mark,
I have to thank you of course for the 3.46s, the Toyo RA1's though are from my wallet. The great tune from Simon was also from my wallet, but it's definately the right stuff, good work by him. I'm also blown away by the mph, even the Holden guys were impressed. Like I said, there's plenty left in her. If the Rods, Simon or Mark hopped in it I'm sure it would have cracked a 13.0 or 13.1. Kev's time is listed as a 13.2, I'm interested to see that the figure after the 2.

I wasn't able to take full advantage of them, I had about 27psi in them when I posted my best time. The launch though was awesome, had it sitting on 2800rpm, rolled off the clutch and it just went. The Dunlops would have just fried. It didn't bog down and I didn't hear a squeal although outside someone else heard a little one. I knew I was on a good one after the launch, was over the moon although I lost the race!

If you're right Mark. all I can say is....you baaastard Kev, 5 hundredths, cmon... Like I said in the PM to you, Mark, ask him to list the MPH as well. And, yep, I'll have to perfect my launching style. I'm only scratching the surface with this thing of mine, I'm only a beginner, it's got grunt!

Your MPH is very good but the prize is only for the ET, dont think Kevs MPH is like yours....Rodderz had just over 106mph..
Next week you have to give it a bit more off the line...

Bloody well done Phantom xr8. I might have to go back out to the track now. Havent been out for ages. You will crack a 12 no prob buddy. You have a sedan for a start just get the 1.8 60 footers and your there. You definatly have the fastest mph. Anyways here is a time slip hope you can read it ok.

Whoops sorry. Didnt think it would be that big..O well at least you can read it.

The 60 foot looks like 1.8601. Which would be about right for my ute.I have slips with 1.83, 1.84.

Kev,
Just checking to see if you're awake down there... Seriously, you're time is the one to beat, your great effort still stands. Maybe next time, thought I was close. With a serious racer in it(my car) today it wouldn't have been so slow, Simon, Rodderz, Rod, Mark or even Kev, wanna come to Sydney for a holiday?

Simon and I did do a lot of ground work before today, just PM him, he'll explain it. On the road as a daily driver is where it really shines, those roundabouts and tight left/right handers never felt better in 2nd!

Big well done Craig....for only a few attempts a 13.29@108 is a great time and mph in a 1800kg+ car

As others have said bring the 60' down even more and so will the ET...where the mph is good for a 12

I'll be out playing at heathcote next week...wont run a PB imo though I need a better clutch and street tyres that arent bald to get off the line quicker!

My times are old and it is time for a new benchmark. My first 13.2 was september last year. It runs them fairly consistent but I would love a one off that is 3 tenths faster. I have only been out once this year and am looking forward to heathcote on the 9th. I basicly gave up on ever getting a twelve, I dont have the MPH. I have a freak slip somewhere with a 13.30 at 100mph.
With out the conditions I dont think it can do it and I dont have the time or the money to go out every week hoping for the right conditions. I'm sure you will knock me off soon. At least I will still have the quickest 260 ute.(I hope)

With out upsetting anyone, Rod, Mark and I arent the smallest blokes in the world. I recon we need to find a little 50kg jockey type that can drive.

Well done again.....

Never give up Kev.We can run more mph by changing to a taller diff ratio but we need the 3.73 to help get the extra weight of the ute down the track, mph is nice but ET is what counts, sometimes you can't have it both ways.Weight is a killer.

I'm sure Phantom will be trying hard to get his times down & as we know a 12 sec pass won't be easy, although it's only a couple of tenths it can seem like a world away on the track with the heavy BA.I've always said I'd love to see a 12 sec pass out of a 260 & hopefully we or someone else will get there.I remember when we were running 13.2's with the LS 1's with a stock internal engine in the early days, now we have two cars running 12.00 & 12.12 respectively in the same guise. If someone told me we'd be running those numbers back 5 years ago I would have said they were crazy.

Exciting times ahead for the Boss.

Cheers Glenn

Kev,
I'm sure if you drove my car you'd be consistant, you know what you are doing. I'd say it would be consistantly lower than a 13.2 as well, it's that great. I just need to learn how to be consistant. You can see from the high mph it's ready for a good time, it just needs someone better than me to do it.

This is an amazing thread. Not the subject matter, but the attitudes towards all when it could have descended into you know what.

It is a pleasure to see proven tuners with different products in different bodied cars all having a giggle together with no shit stirring. Simon's tunes seem to be always on the money, and G and D's work on the ute paid dividends very quickly.

The consistant theme here is Ford enthusiasts enjoying their amazing results provided by quality tradespeople. I feel like we are all standing in a bar together after mark has bought a couple of jugs of frothy stuff and its happy hour :

This is the way it should be.

Rodderz - I have some rims and tyres i will be bringing up for the meet, along with the rest of my gear, feel free to use them.
