Hi all,
My 2002 laser has a door actuator (rear driver's side) that has failed. Anybody know the method for getting access? I can see screws and clips, but can't quite see how to get the window winder undone? Thanks for any help |

Just came across this post so it's probably too late by now but if it's the same setup as the earlier models there should be a small clip at the back of the winder which needs to be removed.
Using a small flat bladed screw driver spread a gap between the winder and backing plate look between and you will see the clip with another screw driver ease forward till it pops off ! Easy! Fitting is reversal of removal but put clip back on winder and push on till clicks in place oh don't forget the backing plate !! It can also be done using a small piece of cloth and feeding it in behind the plate and the winder and pulling it down and around till the clip pops off, just be careful it doesn't pop off and go flying, it could be hard to find if it does :( |

Hi Russ,
Thanks for your help. Turns out the winder wasn't the hard part after all. The door closer (pull handle) has screws behind it, so has to be taken off before gaining access to the screws. There is a slot under the "pull handle" to give access to release "Clip A", but I couldn't get it to release. Turns out the clip is attached at the top as well as the bottom! And there is no slot on the top to hint at the clip position. Anyway, after a few days, I got it off, and after 3 attempts to get the right door actuator, it's all back together and working... Thanks again.... |
