My power window on my AUII for the front passangers side does not go up or down. Lucky it is stuck up though : A frind of mine was sick in the car about 14 months ago, i poured buckets of water down the door (Yes i know heinsight can be a pain in the ***) to flush it out. 3am is not when I want to be detailing the car. The problem started about two weeks ago and anyway the window will not go up or down from both the passangers switch and drivers switch. I believe it could be the reciver switch that inieates the actuators to make the window go up and down may be gone.
How do you remove the front passangers interior door trim? To look at the reciever switch if it is there. How do you fix this problem.

Look ast your switches in the drivers door first. That panel with the switches come up and off.Check it for coke spills or corosion.Sometimes the drivers door switch wirng harness comes loose and the passengers side stops working.

Pull the panel useless described off.. Pry it out of the arm rest with a flat blade screw driver.. Undo both switches and swap the wiring looms around as to check if you can put the passenger up and down using your working drivers switch.. Also using your good switch put that into the passenger side and try it there aswell as if one switch fails the 'master' switch on the drivers side won't operate the window
If it starts to work OK with the good switch, you can easily pull the other switches apart and clean out any crap and freshen the contact strips inside the switch with the screw driver.

Had the same problem with our AUII Fairmont wagon, except the window was down!
Pulled the entire door apart to check if the electric motor had gone kaput only to put it all back together again to find it working.... There was the slightest bit of corrosion on the blades coming out of the back of the door control switch. Nothing would work until I cleaned it up with a little bit of emery paper. The little panel it sits on comes out very easily with a flat blade. Shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes to fix! Cheers! |

I had a similar problem in my AU, the passenger window would only wind up. It would wind up and down via the drivers switch. I took the switch apart and used an emry board (thanks mum lol) to clean it up a bit and its working now.

i think this is a SUPER COMMON RECCURING AU problem.. aka the window switches crapping out due to corrosion of the contacts..
as mine has done it twice since i got it.. and thats only like 3 months |
