Made the right choice imo.....
If I was going to buy another performance 8 it would be the R8 and leave the T3 in storage for Sunday's....

Silver kiks , but there is a black one in town, and it looks menecing...
I will admit the The HSV's are the best lookin VE's (except for the ugly vent in the gaurd), if i was going to go to the darkside it would be for a VZ HSV...

Is it just me or is that rear bar not lined up with the guard right? Shame about the colour match on the plastics, i'll expect that on a focus but not a $70 000 HSV

Problem with HSV's is that shape will be outdated in 5 years when ever P plate racer has the same body mods done to their poverty pack commo. Live it up while its top dog but offload it before the worst happens.

But that's what keeps Holden going.

If you get the Monaro, then they would have to loose two doors as well.

Oh and nice buy BLOHSV, the VE has grown on me it certainly turns the heads.

Just wondering if anyone has seen both your cars together and mis-interperated the plates on the xr8 as BelowHSV? heh that'd really fire up the purists

Exactly. They are all in V8 Supercar as it keeps second hand values from not being as bad as a Magna, because the young blokes buy them up quick smart, thus fleet buyers turn them over quicker.... That is the #1 reason they support V8 Supercar and help get it off the ground and turn it into what it is now.

Maturity levels are really starting to show in this thread :

BLOHSV - I'm with you there mate, the FPV V8 range has nothing on the new VE HSV V8 range, they win hands down. If i was to buy a new V8 at moment i would be looking at new HSV also

This scenario turns around though for the 6 cylinder range as HSV hasn't got a hope in hell of matching anything from FPV and this is sole reason why i have decided to wait till the new F6 Orion comes out with new looks and performance levels before buying new car
I have decided on buying 2nd hand XR6T to tie me over till new range is out next year

Once again congrats on buying a really nice new car that i'm sure you'll get a lot of pleasure out of driving, keep us updated with how everythings going with new beast

my opinon:

why are all these people (80% of people on here) spending so much money on a daily driver?
$77,000 is a lot of money for a car! especially one thats gets shat on by birds, dented at a carpark and all stone chipped up. i built a car for a fraction of that which would slaughter it on a straight AND around a bend, magnetic ride control = **** factor for grannys who dont want hard suspension all the time.
its cheaper (and more fun) to buy a fairmont/statesman as a daily driver and then build a fun car.

i built this... its faster, looks better, sounds SH1TLOADS better, has better throttle response, handles better (if you dont believe me try me) is one-of-a-kind, is very comfy and reliable and is great on fuel (not as good as a 2 ton electric brick..but good) and i did it for under $30,000,
there is no car on the market that can take as much thrashing as this one! its cheaper to fix, i can work on it and i if wrap it around a tree, i can put it all in another falcon instead of the insurance company taking it off me.

now i have driven the GTS but not the GTP, they both are sexy sexy little cars, they are both fast, and they are both very expensive. none of them would stand out on the street from the same model.

i like your new car BLOHSV have fun with it, but for under $30,000 there would have been alot more fun to be had.

my daily driver is soon the be a BA falcon, my FUN car will always be oldschool. why do you need a car worth $77,000 with 300kw just to drive to the video store???? when all you feel when you get left behind by a HQ one tonner is like you have thrown your money in the drain?
remember its depriecianting (spelling?)!

flame me if you will but think about it. there is no autobarn in australia (well only a shop :S ) and i have learnt that doing "fun" things on the street isnt worth it

I do it because it's my mobile office. It's comfortable, reliable, puts a smile on my dial when I give it a bit of a squirt after a crappy job, I can park it and not worry about someone trying to rip it off because it's unique and it's tax deductable.

I'd have no problems parking my XR8 in Potts Point when doing some jobs in the area but no way in the world would I park your XF there.

Ah yes I remember when having a VL made you hot property at school. Throw on a Walky kit and look out, you'd have shazza, becca and lozza beating down your front door to jump in the front seat. I cant wait for in 10 years I see some 17 year old in a clapped out VE, one arm on the door, the other resting on top of the steering wheel. And over the deafening drone of the over sized exhaust the young bloke wont even hear me chuckle and say "they were $70,000 brand new".

nice buy mate, i drove one the other day, pure porn, i would really like to see a stripped out version but hey...

the rear lights are great, hsv have done a smart thing, it means the hsv's are unique because every moron out there cant fit these lights to their "blinged" up povo packs. How annoying is it to see so many execs with monaro lights, it kills me.

AU I.R.S should have had alloy wishbones but cost meant it was made of cast iron. Actually gave the car PERFECT 50/50 weight distribution from what I've read. The suspension bushes/ball joints etc don't wear out as quickly as the BA's IRS. A mate works at ford and the amount of control link pivot bushes replaced at low kms was crazy. Tear diff bushes if flogged as well.
It's a well known fact AU irs is superior bit of kit.
