Gday Guys
Put in an order for some simmons V5 15x7.5 fronts and 15x10 rears Secured two 295/50/15 Yokohama Radial 352s for the rear but just worried about the fronts rubbing Will 235/60/15s rub - that is the general gist of what i am reading in prior posts Problem is I want to stick with radial 352s and they dont make a 225/60/15 Maybe a 245/50/15 may fit What are your thoughts fellow coupe people? hey george
a 245 x 15 x 50 should fit - but not many manufacturers make them anymore - good luck trying to find them i have bridgestone potenza's on the front of mine - 225 x 15 x 50 if you need to go the 235 x 15 x 60 route, then moving the caster forward around 2 degrees will fix the problem the wheel will look slightly off centre to the guard, but after looking at it a few times, you will stop noticing 225 x 50 x 15 may look a little silly with your rear choice - mine are 265 and the car is lowered to suit that choice having 295 x 50 and 225 x 50 may look a little out of place, with the difference in rolling diameter hopefully this helps, 235 x 15 x 60 will probably be the easiest choice to make work - the tyre place should be able to help you out with info in this respect http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...42#post2439742 post 57 in this thread, shows a wild plum xb that looks to me to have the caster slightly forward - this should give you an idea on how it will look if you choose the 235's Last edited by gtxb67; 20-07-2010 at 07:31 PM. |

Hi George, 235/60x15 should be fine. I've run that same size tyre on 15x7 rims in the dim and distant past and they haven't even looked like rubbing.
Grab 'em and chuck 'em on, you'll be sweet.

Hi everyone. I am ordering some centreline convo pro rims from rocket industries for my landau and have been sorting out rim size, backspace etc.
I have worked out the rear size required and that is 15 x 10 with a 5" backspace and that is largely due to the comments i found in this thread. I am a bit stuck on the front. The wheel rim size in the catalogue is as follows: Centerline - Convo Pro 15" X 7" Wheel 5 X 4.5" With 3-3/8" Backspace I'm just wondering if someone could tell me if that is the correct backspace for a front rim on the coupe and im also wondering if I should go to a wider rim at the front as another option is 15 x 8.5. I would appreciate any comments. Thanks. |

I just had a look and at my front wheel, there is nothing to indicate the back space, sorry i can't help.
I bought mine from superplus. If you call and ask for marcus he knows the correct coupe sizes without checking the book and should help you out. 03 9703 1119 |

Nice one, do you know what the tyres cost without the mags? Where did you get them from.

got em from retro wheels in sydney, richard had brought them from the states. cost me $300 each They are dunlop SP8000 from the www.thetirerack.com. they are no longer available it seems, so not too sure once these are gone! 18 or 19's perhaps? Also, just to clear up something, I asked him about his simmons "copies" that were metioned earlier in another thread. he didnt quit understand the copy part, then informed me that the copies i was refering to were actual simmons centers (15 and 16 inch only). He has been the sole manufacturer of these rims for 8 years now, with full suport from Tony simmons. in fact they are made from genuine simmons molds in the simmons factory(in China!) Richard brought the rights to the molds. He does not do the V5 variant as Tony simmons wouldnt sell the mold to him. It is no longer in production. Also thr rumours that Tempe tyres are going to do the larger 18 and 19 inch rims soon is just that... a rumour. The molds, once again, are still in simmons hands in China. But, if you want the larger size wheels, you only need a second hand set of centers as the rims are still available for any offset required, thru Retro. i will post fotos of the tyres when i take some next.. Cheers. ps Greg, metioned you got yours through Neals, richard had said that they do an exellent job and you shouldnt have any issues with then.

Thanks mate
Ps: it's George ;) The service level agreement he has with tony means he has to grind the Simmons stamp off the wheel I was told. I would have got the wheels thru him and saved $600 but I wanted the Simmons on my bad boys lol |
