Would I buy those cars? NO. But those companies must be doing something right for so many 'fools' to buy their cars. I wish we had so many 'fools' buying Falcons and Territories.

That said, a better result for Falcon and Territory in Nov is positive.
It is these 'fools' that you can thank for the demise of Ford Aus and automotive manufacturing in Australia altogether.
And when our economy goes into recession (that's when not if) you can thank all these fools for sending money over to Korea, Thailand, Japan etc. and helping to strengthen their economy whilst our own withers.
That's the problem with people these days, they are too short sighted and cannot see the bigger picture.

So you expect people to buy something that they don't want just to support our economy? That's not the way the world works anymore. It's 2013 - people put their money down on what they want and via many different mediums. I suppose you expect me to support the local business and buy a $35 blu ray instead of buying from overseas at $8. Sorry, but businesses need to get smarter.

BTW, my kitchen has 100% Australian made appliances - Electrolux - made in Adelaide. I hope yours are too.

F-Series had another big month with 65,501 and year to date of 688,810 and with one
more month left in 2013, there's a good chance that F-Series will crack 750,000 for the year.

Was that including Super Duty? Would have to be, that's insane when you compare that number to the tiny figures we get here.

The rest of the world can support their own economies, so why is it only Australians that can't?

You make our economical well being sound so trivial... I think it is vital that we support our economy. That is why I will always look for Australian product first...

So I take it that you spend your hard earned money on expensive items that you DON'T want to SUPPORT our economy?

Hopefully that doesn't sound trivial.

I look for the Australian made product first too. Read the rest of my post. I hope your kitchen is decked out with $10000 worth of AUSTRALIAN made electrical appliances.

BUT I refuse to buy a product that I don't want, or one that is much more expensive just so I can sleep better at night. If that works for you, great.

Once again, good month for Falcon/Territory.

Yes, Ford doesn't normally separate F150 from the Super Dutys but they usually make up around two thirds,
since there's three plants plants going flat out, two that make F150 nd one making the Super Dutys.

Really! I hate sounding like a teacher telling kids off in a class room but c'mon!

People can decide to do what ever they want with their own hard earned. It is not up to anyone else to call them "FOOLS" or what ever else for doing so. I am over seeing these stupid rants over and over again

I have bought new imports over the last few years and also bought a crap load of AU built cars. This does not make me a fool or better or worse than anyone else.

By all means discuss the figures and the reasons why and no problems stating your own opinions but when people start to target others and call them fools, it is argumentative and disrespectful to those who do buy everything from Rangers, Fiesta;s Focus or BMW's.

Light hearted banter between Holden and Ford is no probs. Any banter between brands is and always has been no probs, but when it starts and continues to be personal attacks on people for making the decisions they do .... well, it is not in the well being of what this Forum is about.

Those who liked the idea (post) that those who bought imports are fools, get real ..... I have removed the thanks.

It is embarrassing that people pretend to be 'Motoring Enthusiasts' and bag out those who are just 'Ford Enthusiasts' but then go on to bag out every other brand in the market place, just because they were not made here.

Many many people here have imports, Fords included and I don't think they are fools. By all means, be patriotic as much as possible but don not belittle those who have chosen to buy offshore. It is GREAT that we have the opportunity to do so and if the locals cant keep up? WHO IS TO BLAME!!!!!

I and other Mods will stick up for those with Non Australian Ford's and other cars if the need arises and those who do not like it, well really, just leave?

Now just keep the discussion sensible and leave the high horses off the keyboard!

Really over it.

On the topic of the Mondeo, there's a few things against it.
It's replacement looks amazing so any car-savvy will be holding off for that. And unfortunately, the interior of the current car is really showing its age.

Also I dare say that the few people who end up getting into the dealer may well spot a Kuga (damn nice) or Territory (damn good deals) in the distance and go with one of those.

I must admit I can't say I've seen a Mondeo ad recently. Maybe Ford are holding off a little until the new car arrives next year? I saw it in the metal at the Going Further event and it looked amazing!

Mondeo sales will rise when the new model is released and when it doesn't have a certain other car competing with it in the dealership.

Well one of those Falcons for November was mine so hooray etc

And for the elitist: the XR has had more warranty issues in 1000KM than our 'imported heap' has had in 35,000 - which also has better tech and buld quality

That aside, i love my Falcons and will always do so. Ford to me means Falcon and i'll always do what i can to support it situation permitting. Sometimes the issues i experience make me announce i'll never buy new again, but i've said that before and still gravitate back to them. That said we're a minority and the masses have spoken. I don't understand everyone's reasoning for turning away from it, i mean geez my turbo does 8.xL/100 on the freeway.. but it's not my place to question other peoples motives or reasoning, it's none of my business.

Let's hope the sales pick up so those who like to buy second hand will have plenty of choice for many years to come.

no but i don't see it being an issue. I can still buy parts for the AU with ease from Bayford spares, brand new. In fact i've bought things as far back as EB in the past.

Besides, it's more likely the arctic will start selling beach condos than Ford advising your new car may have parts shortages in the future.

I like how people are putting faith in the next Mondeo selling up a storm.
Look at the Mazda 6 sales...$100 says it wont sell any more than that.

Camry only sells so well due to fleets, otherwise the mid size market is 600 sales a month max.

Hell I reckon the Mustang will outsell the next Mondeo.

Stupid question. All cars sold in Australia must carry spare parts for ten years after that model is no longer produced/sold. It is a legal requirement for all brands.

Not just in Australia, in 1994 the Mondeo was selling 11,000 a month in the UK (the biggest market for Mondeo), last year it averaged around 1600 a month even with a full variety of diesels, bodystyles (sedan, wagon and liftback), Ecoboosts and NA petrols and with the latest tech and features.

Ford should of killed off Mondeo, that market in Europe has gone to the C-Max, S-Max, SUV and small car segments with the remaining saloon and estate buyers moving upmarket and to higher performance. The FWD Mondeo is being boxed in below by more practical cars and from above by Audis, BMWs and Mercs. They need a modern RWD Ford Granada which could be then sold in Australia.

Advertising!!! Fords advertising is crap!!! Need Focus ad that highlights the car, not just one feature. Look at the Corolla ad, shows it doing several things...
Same applies to Fiesta !!

Think Brazen is right about the mondo. Not sure if even the new model I'll have a sweet spot on the market.
