Also I wasnt suggesting that this would be a pure race car. I understand that it is indeed merely a spiced up family car, and very few people would ever take it near a track. I just feel it is within Fords power to acheive the 'image' of a more race oriented car. Image is everything. Altering the image from the existing GT variants slightly, wouldnt be too difficult a task. The other thing is, I think FPV needs to broaden their advertising scope. Adds would be just that little bit more tolerable if there were rumbling Ford V8's on the screen.

People want comfort and refinement, not a stripped out racer that cant be driven on days over 24'C or on roads with even the slightest undulation that would shake your teeth out. I think Ford learnt their lessons with the early HO's: that didnt sell all that well and were sold at a loss because they cost a fortune to make. They maybe expensive icons now, but Ford don't see a cent of the prices fetched by Phase 3's do they.... So i doubt they give a hoot about its "collectability" down the track.

seeing as tho every ones putting in their 2c
i think it would be nice to have something similar to the hsv clubsport dts maybe very light weight limited style wheels better rubber a slight increase in kw 305kw(maybe made with better headers, free'r flowing exhaust and tickle with engine management) badging and possibly limited stripe package base it on GT not gtp and add $5-6000 to the sell price not unrealistic but enough to warrant the badges |

I dont understand why everyone expects so much. The majority of us (freaks) go get the exhaust etc done straight away anyway, so it doesn't matter how much power it has because for most it wont be enough for their ego.

R speck suspension "Is a advanced level of suspension tune , allowing customers to fully expoloit the potential of the GT 40th Anniversary in track days and club sprint events. It will also feature a higher capacity oil coller on Automatic transmision models, which increases the efficiency of the transmission cooling system under the extreme conditions and temperatures often experienced on race tracks"
All a bit wishy washy isnt it. i think that means it is as firm as hell. |

I have to admit this is a good package. Sure it doesn't have a power increase it should have, but at least it has a unique track suspension set-up, kinda ties to racing heritage, so ill give the thumbs up to FPV for this one.

Trans pack is for the ZF's as apparently after some hot laps they yell no more.
Im also surprised that its only black, how cool would the reverse of the colours be, like the original XR GT.

Hmm... FPV providing a car that they are happy for you to take to the track? I thought that was an FPV nono!
Im gathering no power upgrades? Just suspension, stripes and rims?

As for the track, thats another topic, but I dont think FPV is alone with the no track no warranty thing. Which makes sense, why should they cover you, unless it is obviously a mechanical failure on a low kay car. Although your a bit of a nut taking any new car onto a track until it has atleast had time to be run in.
