The HSVs won based on what the sheep and followers wanted. Even though in many cases the Tickford was the better car to drive. I may be biased but the XR5 turbo was every bit as good as a GTi

Yeah manufacturers tend not to say our new car is crap, don’t buy it. Tends to cause problems selling them.
The roofs leaked terribly, and the quality was unbelievably poor. I think exports to the US tanked too. I do remember the head of the Capri program writing on the final report “this little duck will never fly”. |

If you're a muggle I guess you'd sit in their cars and the stereo and the feel of the interior is probably the first thing you'd notice |

Toyota Landcruiser. It gets so much more hype about its capability than it deserves.

Lol. Fair enough!
It's a pretty big company that makes a variety of **** and very expensive cars then....like you I don't like the badge but love the car. Perfect for my needs and not another option close really. Maybe the Liberty GT-Spec Wagon closest and I rate them. |

When it comes to 4x4s you're either a Nissan Patrol or Toyota LandCruiser man
Who remembers the GQ Patrol? I was riding shotgun when the driver sunk one up to past the bonnet and got it stuck and it was still happily idling away while we were taking in heaps of water in the interior awaiting rescue Personally I'm team Patrol, that way my Nissan jacket could have some relevance |

If it wasn't for the awesome interior and great exhaust note I'd agree. The GTi a very safe choice with excellent resale. As for which id pick out of GTi or XR5 - neither as I'm not a hatch fan (as not useful for me), but I'd have the latter ahead. VWs are overpriced. However not close to some other Germans that are WAY overpriced (BMW 3 series and Audi A4 exhibit 1) |

Saw a sticker on a Cruiser the other day. "Official Nissan Partol recovery vehicle" Who would actually make a sticker like that, didn't we just take it for granted that that's what a Landcruiser was made for! On the eight day God made a Landcruiser to get a big Datsun out of a boghole or a little bit of sand blown across the tarred beach road! I still like the old name Datsun! Hope you can have a laugh with me and forget about that other person peddling Landcruisers are over rated, Landcruisers are highly rated because there's nothing better! Go ahead, name a better vehicle in the same category! Cheers Phil |

working on a processing plant, parked the 100 and up into the scaffolding to do my thing, come back, no 100, where did it go> it's 50ft up in the air in yonder distance at end of a crane > wtf > turns out someone had borrowed it to drive 200m to crib room (for fitness I guess), got to carpark, hit accelerator instead of brake, over the curb, down the embankment, 100 now resting on 1000psi pressure line. So technically it got major air time.

It would be great fun flying about Melbourne's freeways in a 400KW+ Toyota LandCruiser. The only thing is second hand they've all got dodgy LPG installs or 600,000km on them and they're still going for 5 figures. |

I bought a new 80series v8 auto in 2004 and petrol prices jumped from 88c in 2002 to 148c in 2008, they were a great car, cruise control was dangerous, set it at 100 and get to the top of the hill, its motoring and you have to jump on the brakes! fuel economy wasn't the best, but 16 years later my Mazda cx-9 gets no better fuel economy when the price has been up around 180c. Cheers Phil. |
