My father just ordered one, I put a bit of **** on him for buying the EB4 until I saw performance figures and was quite impressed, but still... A Mustang should be an 8.
But anyway, its for my mother to drive so not necessary, plus its a $13k option which seems ridiculous. We are assuming because the V8 is pushed into the luxury car tax bracket being above $57k

Yes this is strange. I found this image of a UK model with handbrake on the right hand side. I wonder what the deal is

Interesting they have changed the console so as the drink holders aren't under your arm changing gear. Either that or the photo image has been reversed and that is a left hand drive version

That image had been flipped. The sync screen is backwards. They have changed some of the text, but not all. Usual marketing cut and paste job, hoping no one will notice.

Remember the first Commodores had the heater controls on the extreme left of the dash and the bonnet release in the glovebox! I found some picks of LHD early Mazda 3s online and the handbrake is on the right hand side of the console and the cup holders in the console open the wrong way so its whatever they can get away with I guess. What about the F150 Harley Davidson editions with the pin code entry pad on the passenger door?

If you are someone who uses the drink holder you'll definitely need to elevate your arm to wheel around in a manual.

The VF Commodore isn't much better but at least you can rest your elbow on the higher console lid.

That might have been a boo boo not altering the console layout as in left hand drive mode you could have a drink bottle in the holder and still change gear without it getting in the way because its offset. In the Aussie ones its straight under your arm.

From what I hear they can't get enough Mustangs in the dealerships in my area.
The dealer told my father they can't just order Mustangs without buyers to have as extra stock. When he placed his order he requested that the contract state that he can pull out of the sale at any time and have his deposit refunded and the dealer was more than happy to include this as he'd have no trouble finding a buyer.

I agree on the handbrake. Yes it's costly to produce a product in right and left hand drive in true mirror image but it's the right thing to do. It compromises the design that could affect people daily all to save really probably a small amount per unit. God I love ford but doing things half assed really ****** me off. Maybe the companies doing conversions now could mirror the consoles?

If Holden could install a switch operated handbrake on the commodore, surely MoFoCo could do the same on a car that sells much more volume than a commodore. The lack of attention to detail is something that Ford needs to address if they want to move forward

Another option could have been to not even bother with a RHD version at all. You know, like GM, leaving Holden fans without a hero car.

Ford fans are lucky to have Mustang being made available in RHD from the factory.

Anchor those Mustangs in your pic look sweet. I see the Everest behind them in same colour (and your shirt!) and looks very Christmasy - but more importantly the Ford showroom has got some great product in it!

We saw a white V8 'Stang down here on the coast in Vic and it was a show stopper, looked bl***y awesome. We drove round the block to see it again!

What does "give it all up" and "go off" actually mean? How do I write that up as a warranty claim? What is the fault?

For this who haven't seen the sales figures for the Mustang in the USA since the launch of the S550, I suggest you jump over to M6G. You will find it has blown all the completion away and the majority of sales have been the mid range speck ie the interior we get. So the yanks seem to be happy with all the plastic.

Yes it's a pain that the handbrake is on the wrong side, but there was far more involed in moving it than just changing the console. The S550 is due for a mid-life make over next year, so I reakon one of the changes they will incorporate is a redesigned centre console to suit both LHD/RHD markets and it will have an electric park brake.

As already stated, what have GM done, there is no RHD Camero and the current 2016 plateform was not designed for RHD. So it will be 4-5 years at beast before we see a RHD Camero.

Both the interior design and materials look quite horrid imo, I certainly wouldn't be forking out money for it. The VF interior posted above is soothing to the eyes after looking at the Mustang interior.
Exterior doesn't do much for me either. It's obvious this car is selling purely on name, as IMO there is nothing much else going for it.
To be fair the photo of the Commodore's interior doesn't tell the full story.

A not so close inspection in the real world will show some seriously cheap materials have been used in some places.

The piano black trim for example is as nasty as you can get and the fake carbon, well why bother.

Plus that Mustang console photo is extremely close and I'm sure those people who own them will say it doesn't appear as granulated as it does in the photo.

I'd almost rather it in the back seat than a foot brake.

I owned a car for 3 years with a foot park brake and never liked it. You get used to it, but I would take a regular handbrake any day of the week. Even if it's on the wrong side of the centre console.

Of course the Americans don't have to put up with heat and sun.

Forget the 'built to handle Aussie conditions' bollocks. That hasn't been true for a long time...
