If you look on youtube there are many American's commenting on Ranger videos saying they wish the new Ranger was sold in the US.

Only thing is they would probably expect the XLT Ranger for like $25,000

I do some work for a Converter company and its amazing to see what is pulled down and thrown away then a part is made and offered up as its replacement. The dash manufacturing is quite an art. I was working on a ZL1 Camaro whilst a worker stripped the interior and about 70% went in the bin. Its got to be totally rewired, firewall rearranged, steering and suspension modified and thats just the start.

Look at the Dashboard pictures for the 2015 model the chevypower listed, it really looks like it was designed to be easily made in RHD.

i got the full walk through, they had 5 raptors and 2 dodge rams in all different stages pulled apart . words cant explain how technical this job is too do. i totally see why its so expensive.

as mentioned before ,just the investment in all the equipment you need and the know how to do so is incredible . not to mention training employees to do the job. its not back yard chop shop job thats for sure.

i think when people are going on about the cost have this thing in there head ,that the jobs done in a day or two and you just move the steering wheel and your away. its so bloody technical it amazed me.

yes they are overpriced here, compared to the states we get rorted. but the people that do the conversion work earn every cent of there money.

dont know about them, but the raptors they throw the dash away ( the part under all the plastic, the bit that holds all the bits and pieces like the taco air vents ect , and remould a whole new one. i was under the impression they just swapped bits from side to side and its all put back together. lol not even close.

and i know what your saying they do look like there designed to go to rhd easy. nothing of the sort. i suprised with the work they act do its worth there while to convert them. i guess it is cause they do it. but they earn it.

I got quoted $40K on conversion and compliance from VDC a few years ago, so there is obviously a LOT of work that has to be done to get it to RHD for a start.

Latest issue of Diesel Power magazine has the latest "Chevrolet Colorado" reviewed which is apparently coming to the USA and its priced at $38,000 USD for top trim I think.

It would have to be priced low over there because regardless that its a smaller sized ute it would be competing on price with the bigger variants.

Also Americans still aren't very big on diesel powered light duty utes as they all whinge about maintenance costs and diesel being too expensive.

still sure the the importers make good money on each truck. they have also gone to alot of expense to run there shop to get it. ( this isn,t directed at you either tray-18 just adding some extra that i just thought off)
350 hours isn't bad, that was supposedly how long it was for us to completely fit out a new Ambulance when I was working at an emergency vehicle manufacturer, but it was closer to 500 because of problems we were facing all over the place.

can't post pics i,m useless on a computer. its silver. to be honest i,m glad i got the supercharger, its not what you would think. nothing like a supercharged gt or anything. pretty sure i would have been disappointed in standard. nice cruising power and enough to shock some old fogie doing 40km under the speed limit.

and its friggen loud very loud i,m act thinking of quieting it up just a little bit its not like i will miss 10kw just a nice note not a wake the whole rd loud.its act really good on fuel too. just cruising at 100km is like 1500rpm
