Saw this car, had a good look and walk around it and had a decent chat to the copper.
He's been in highway patrol for 18years, he was given 85k and told to build a special police car, anything you want.
So being a Ford fan he got an R spec GT and has it tuned to 404rwkw. Got the upgraded brembos, and a few other little tweeks.
He was getting pics with CANFRY and another falcon on wednesday night.. and CANFRY also said "i'd still be quicker" which cracked me up.
Cop was nice enough, car was awesome.

Mate, what information or years driving experience do you base that comment on ?

Yes some are better than others but..I've witnessed some of these guys at the previous police driving school at St Ives and on the racetrack - bloody impressed.
If your ever given the opportunity (but doubt it) to check them out at the Academy driving range you would retract that statement...

And of course as usual Dowling puts his little holden spin on it.

"the fastest ever car built by Ford Australia" not "fastest car made in Australia"

I suppose saying all the Aurions are "fastest car Toyota make" is not untrue.

Yes it is, his name is Mark Stevens and he is one of the best Hwp troops that I worked with. I agree with your comments about the calibre and expertise of the Hwp drivers. NSW Hwp are without doubt the best Hwp in the world including Chp. Being an ex 'cockroach' makes me proud to have been one for over 20 years, 1975 to 1996 and I do admire the vehicles that they have now. My current ride is a BA XR8 ute in Phantom with a few mods.

I like it, what an awesome looking car...he has done a stellar job. Just proves that cops are ordinary folks like us, and in this case with similar passion for the blue oval. How can you knock that?

Got to agree with a couple of others on here as well, these guys know how to drive under pressure. I once saw a cop reversing flat out down a gravelly little goat track like he had the thing on tram tracks...and if you saw this stretch of road you wouldn't think it possible. Was only a teenager at the time, but right then I thought to myself if I ever considered 'doing a runner' it would be a fail.

Thanks for that - well, good on him and he deserves to be proud of his achievements.
Just hope I get a chance to have a chat with him and eyeball the car somewhere before it's parked in the museum !.

My favorite photo. Nek's XR8 and Brett's GT certainly came up nicely...

Anyone know if there's a pic of all 3 without the people in the pic?

My mother was killed as a result of a high speed pursuit, the police car lost control and collided into on coming traffic, plug you watch that highway patrol show and you see them doing 150kph with one hand on the wheel talking into the 2 way all at the same time yeah police are safe drivers

I used to do over 200 km/h all the time with one hand on the wheel and the other operating a radio.

It comes down to training and one event does not mean that a procedure is invalid.

I'd bet they are safer driver's then you!!

But I guess you're one of these poeple that think the police have to chase down criminals (nastey people like Rapists, Murderers, Drug Dealers, Rock spiders etc) while obeying the speed limit, and general traffic laws etc...

What has all this got to do with the thread subject?

Nothing...just more Police bashing...

Training what training, what driving around a track at 80kph and doing skids in the water. I have been driving Road trains for more than 20 years now and i have never been pulled up for speeding or ever had an accident.
