in the next couple of years and Marin will still be singing Falcon's praises as viable with most sales heading towards or above $50,000. I agree, without Falcon, Ford would be stuffed in this country, people try to sing the praises of Focus and Mondeo but they are getting pummelled in sales. |

Those figures for the hilux are truly amazing, see if anyone predicted that a few years ago! There must be a fair share of families getting one (dual cab) so you can punt around with kids in the back and move stuff.
Drove past two T6's this week, and they look markedly bigger than the 'lux.

The industry is so incestuous, you'd have a far better chance of working out the family lineage of someone from salisbury than you would the worlds car industry. |

I still think if you are going to combine the sales of the Hilux models to get its total figure (thus the best seller) then the Falcon sedan and Ute and Commodore sedan and ute should be combined.
But if you did that Hilux would be third, and we cant have that, the media really loves everything and anything about Toyota....they cant do any wrong.

But really what is a car. Commodore figures include the sedan and wagon (both made on short wheel base). But pre VE wagon, the wagon was made on the long wheel base, the same as the statesman. However, to allow Holden to claim best sellign car, they didnt add the wagon to the statesman sales, they added it to the commodore sales. The territory, has more in common to a falcon, than a VZ wagon had to a VZ sedan, Yet one figure was combined, and the other seperated.

I'm surprised the Toyota Camry Hybrid is selling so poorly.. I thought it was going to fly out the door with government & fleets wanting to look green..

Buy really, Camry's interiors have improved a bit. Their exterior is still a little plain and conservative though. I thought Kelvin Dudd would have creamed his panties over the Hybrid Camry. The symbolism involved in driving one I thought would have appealed to him especially!

If that were the case then why weren't Falcon wagon sales counted in the Fairlane numbers? Oooh, it's a conspiracy by Holden to boost Commodore numbers. Territory has more in common with a Falcon than a VZ wagon does to a VZ sedan? I'd love to know how you came to that conclusion. |

A Territory has a different body to a falcon, but share a common platform. What makes two cars that dont have the same platform or the same chassis, the same car for sales figures. But two cars that dont share a chassis, but same platform, different cars for sales figures. FPV - VZ wagon was built on the Long wheel base (statesman) platform |

Falcon and Territory arent even on the same platform, let alone a derivative like the classic SWB/LWB Fords/Holdens. |
