If so, then no it hasn't been built yet. There may be driveline mules, but that's not going to surprise many as the drivelines are pretty much carry over, except for maybe a desiel variant. As far as an Orion body goes, then no, they haven't been pressed, crash tested, etc. Near end of year is when it is going to get interesting and sightings on the road will be possible. |

Yes, the end of this year will be when there will be orion sightings, when apprently road tests commence on public roads
It would be great to see the look of it, but at the same time I hope an early revealing shot doesnt end up in mag where it may be damaging to the launch |

both only come in auto option of either engine - leather is standard choice of warm charcoal or regency red - isnt it standard on the Ghia?? Yup Duel Climate is standard - isnt it standard on the Ghia?? YES Reverse sensing system is standard - isnt it standard on the Futura?? YES Pwr Adjust pedals was well. - I have those on my Futura (tho in the BF you need to get the Fairmont) have to optoin premium brakes - hmmm Mats are standard like a GT-P - WOW, FPV matts!!! I Just want one!!! So they are to Ghia's what SR's are to XT's!!! Bah, its all a load of "lets just get through the next year without losing too much sales" And as far as engines, there is no way Ford will be rushing out some spectacular 300+kw V8 in the near future |

Fairmont Ghia with a 290? What a weapon.
Nappa, is the LWB going to have a BF2 as well?

I would like to see some confirmation on this..
If what has been murmered is true. Good morning Fairmont Ghia Limited edition.. If by either engine is a option meaning either 245Kw I6 or 260Kw V8 is avalible on a fairmont Ghia.. Wholey moly. Yeh, I would say by far thats going to be the biggest news about the BF II release. Would explain why no major changes for the XR's. If its F6 270Kw or 290Kw Boss then yeh, I think that might overshadow everything that will be launched this year locally.. If on the other hand they are just the 190 and 230 kw engines. Well Looks like a G220/G230 effort, with red leather and a few other minor touches. Nice, but is it enough to temp people over a 270Kw Calais V? |

Just a question...but why would ford slot FPV engines into the fairmont ghia?
personally im thinking its the boss 260 and xrt engine going in not the FPVengines.

OF course, the Boss dont fit under the normal falco/fairlane bonnet. So if they are doing a fiarmont gha or fairlane with 260/290 engine, then it gets the bulge.

Well my mate at Ford in WA (Wait Awhile) seemed surprised when I grilled him over the phone (can't see his eyes). He either does not know anything about F8 or he has been offered a sweetner to keep his mouth closed. I still have no Idea and will have to wait. (never was any good at that cryptic stuff)

Dealers get told jack ****, trust me the communication of new products is basically when its released dealer staff find out. Most dealer principles / stock controllers however do get early information, but most of these people are non car orientated people and dont talk out of school.

I dont read a lot of forums, FFAU is about it for me. When I read this skyline thread about the Force 6/8's I cannot beleive how immature and pathetic those kids are... eg.. "I eat FPV's for breakfast so send em my way for a good old skyline *** kickin" Just makes you realise that FFAU is lucky its not flooded with this crap all the time. bt0 |

I've been lobbying for a XR6T engine the Ghia for years now. I Ford told me via phone call (from Vic) it will never happen.. Marketing.
However that was atleast 2 years ago now.. Alots changed. Obviously Holden thinks diffrently. I belives there is a move to Sports luxury. Both the SS and Calais have moved on from the origional brief. I don't think ford has quiet got the message. I belive its a 85-98% chance its just a run out deal for the Ghia's to compete with the Calais V. Look, special wheels (18"s, maybe old FPV ones with new Ghia caps) and red (old G220 stock) leather. Sad but really, this would be very Ford. 2-14.9% chance its XR6T and XR8 engines. Certainly the Ghia is down on power to the tune of 40Kw. Calais and Ghia still have strong V8 sales as a %. Ghia is certainly being targeted as the Halo car of the BFII range. It even has XR's headlights and skirts now further strengthening the XR-Ghia link. Turbo Terri Ghia has arrived also marking out market for a super luxury. Not sure about Fairlanes. They may keep the existing front to help distance each other. May still get the engines if the Ghia gets them.. Certainly with BFII the XR and Ghia link is strong. It is possible. Someone absolutely has to get a picture of a Ghia with a XR8 bonnet tho. It would be a dead giveaway. <1% chance of FPV engines. For that to happen prices would go through the roof (sit above FPV?). Ford would have to have some special powertrain agreement, FPV would have to be fine with it (and prodrive). I just don't see it happening. Brembo's? ESP calibration? Turn the world upside down. Would FPV then revert to basically being a powertrain supplier. They sell to well for that. I also think FPV are going to use the Terri turbo brakes in its basic sedans as the basic package. These then also get ESP. |

These are NOT Ford vehicles....
If they come to fruition, then they will be FPV vehicles.... |

I think we should start getting the camera's ready so we can post pics of these "test mules" here so the mag's dont damage the launch : |
