If little miss 11 decided to go back to school then it is possibile that both her and her child would be going to the same school at the same time.

Could be a timing clash at Parent / Teacher nights......ha ha ha

Obviously it would have to be a prep to year 12 kinda school...

(yes I am taking the p1ss, everyone else has already said stuff I wanted to say)

First up, the girl's parents must have been on holidays when brains were being handed out? How cruel are they to allow this girl to have NO leadership at all and to be allowed to do as she pleases at this tender age.

At a time when dolls, tv, friends, interest in boys and Puppies should be all that fills her mind socially, she now has to go through pain and anguish?

The worst part of this WHOLE debacle is that the little child that will come into this world is the result of a drunken night out by an immature child. The child will most likely never be loved as it should be and will become a burden on society because NO ONE took any interest.

The world needs no help to kill it from Terrorists, it has THESE wonderful people to do it for us. :( So sorry for the little bairn on the way :(

What kind of sick would hav sex with an 11 year old. Im 16 and no amount of alcohol could ever make me even look at a girl that young. As harsh as it sounds i hope the girl has a miscaridge becuase having a kid at such an early age is going to completely wreck her already screwed up life. And then think of the poor kid, what ua it going to turn out like?, born into a family with a drunken 12 year old mother and grandmother that is no better. Bloody disgusting, they should all be shot, particualy the girls mother

I heard Sunrise is interested in the story - they have promised that a travesty such as her name being withheld is just un-Australian, and intend to expose her name while Grant dances on a Koshies joke book.

I suppose the mother is going to look after the kid while her daughter continues to go to school, so that by the time her daughter has finihed the grandchild would have learnt exactly what was taught the daughter.

psychological as well as parental help i would say. it's sad to see such a young girl who will miss out on her natural progression of events into her teens, and as most women who bare children early, the dramatic body changes that will accelerate because of childbirth. very sad.....

I agree with you. Too much PC crap has allowed things like this to happen in the first place. Bring back the concepts of survival of the fittest and natural selection and these people wont exist.

Maybe a lot has to do with punishing a child when he/she does something wrong. I am 29 now and when i was a kid my father never told me anything twice, the belt spoke the second time. I have 4 kids and i find myself telling my kids over and over again to do something all because i either do not want to hit or punish them. And after a time a kid knows how much they can get away with. Not making any excuses for this mother especially when her daughter is out partying, drinking, smoking and possibly being sexually active.

I agree with you about discipline. In the past, parents were stricter and more violent, but probably on the right track. However, instead of being violent, the consequences still need to be serious and consistent...

The problem with kids these days is that there are no direct consequences for behaviour as a form of discipline. You do not need to hit or beat a child for them to learn there are serious consequences for stuffing up. You can be quite graphic and get a very strong message across without actually hurting someone. The trick with it is to be consistent. A parent has to follow through with the consequence if the child does not follow the warning and they have to do it regardless of tears, threats, tantrums and they have to do it over and over again until the child learns that the consequence of that action is not fun and decides on their own to stop. Matching the consequence to the bad behaviour is the best way to make the child understand that the behaviour is bad and WHY it is bad (hence more chance they will not do it again).

It is hard because schools are very limited in what they can do as far as consequences go for bad behaviour - they are very limited by the threat of legal action, politically correct behaviour requirements and the recognition of children's rights (which is a good thing).

Kids spend so much of their week in school that it becomes a problem. My son was naughty at school last year, and his reasoning was that it didnt matter because at school they couldnt smack him, they couldnt confiscate anything - all they could do is yell at him, send him to the principal, keep him in at lunch and ring me. None of them bothered him. Until they rang me and I imposed consquences. With repeated testing, he found that he encountered the same problem every time and he soon learned that although the school couldnt do much, I could.

Key point here being parents backing up the school. If the school contacts the parents, and the parents do nothing then the children will run riot at school. Over a long period of time, this leads to all sorts of antisocial behaviour, like gangs running around the school vandalising things, bullying students and then getting into trouble outside of school - such as this girl.

I also think parents these days just dont seem to talk to their kids much. Sit them down and explain to them why doing certain thing are bad.. perhaps pre-empt the 11 year old going out and getting drunk, having sex etc by explaining why this is not a good thing. Talk to them about their plans for their futures, even at an early age. When they discuss their plans, they tend to value those plans more as they take shape in their minds, and once they have a clear path in front of them they tend to be more protective of that, and therefore less likely to want to ruin it... such by having sex and getting pregnant. Sadly, parents do need to have discussions with their children as teenagers about what would happen to their plans/lives in the future IF they went out and had sex and had a baby.

And more sadly, a lot of teenage pregnancies could probably be prevented with a good education, a good relationship with their parents, a few good chats about the child's plans, aims, goals and some basic discussions about what can ruin their lives. It shouldnt be that hard, but for some reason it is.

Parents of these kinds of children who have babies so early, to me, are just lacking interest and concern about their children's welfare and futures.
