It's not like people have gotten bigger (US aside) I kinda don't like how big cars are now. Even small cars aren't so small anymore. Actually, I think it's more the added weight, than the size that bothers me. Some newer cars just don't feel all that special to drive, now. |

Everyone knows that a bog standard XR6T can do a 0-100 in 4.6 with a second gear launch... True.... |

Quick or not I’ve no doubt which I’d pick out of the two and it would be all that tech in the Holden over the XR6T any day. Seriously I don’t have to be the fastest, someone with a tune or some mods is always just corner and you’re done like a dinner anyway or the Cops grab you and take it away just because you're being stupid enough to try and find out.

It's funny you say this, because I seem to read more FORD bashing on this FORD forum, than I do GM bashing

Whilst there is criticism of Ford, it is expected. A forum centered around Ford vehicles with a large owner base, there are people with good and bad experiences, and with the forum they will become vocal. Ford AU and global have made some terrible decisions but also very good ones. In all people are still fans of the Ford but I think are more open minded to other makes and models. They may not have a Ford in their driveway right now but that doesn't mean they're not a Ford fan. Personally I am Ford man, I will drive and own other makes but I am still a Ford man. Unlike many here, I am not a Falcon fanatic, it is just another make in the Ford line up. I judge it like any other product.

I have a friend who runs a Dunlop shop and the contis fitted to the HSV are cheaper than the 275/35/19s Dunlops fitted to my Rspec. The tyre issue is Fords just going for the cheap option whereas HSV went out and put the best tyres on so it performed to the best of its ability's.
Miamis have run 10s with the same mods. RDPs GS springs to mind. The LSA needs more mods to reach the same peak figures as a Miami but it uses its lower overall output more efficiently building on the overall package delivered by HSV. Stock for stock the Rspec and GTF are just as quick point to point without corners although an Auto GTS with its ducks lined up "can" have the edge down the 1/4. Its all very even in a straight line.

The big difference is you won't blow a diff in the GTS.
It will also stop better than any Ford has to offer. Better interior, better suspension, better drive shafts. FFS the list goes on yet you people still don't see that. It is without doubt the best buit Aussie sedan yet and EVER. |

Actually, he/she said it was the best Aussie sedan ever built. Can you name a better one?

I’m prepared to offer up the 1988 Holden JE Camira SL and I hope people don’t feel the need to be negative towards it just because it happens to be a Holden. Though to be honest all Camira models are equally as good and I couldn’t really split a difference between them.

I see plenty of 0-100 and 400m, but dont recall it being fastest Wasn't there a desert run of the GTF that went 297km/hr Has the Holden bettered that? |

"I'm sure"
nice data!!! pretty sure the Ford only had the speed limiter removed, no other mods happy to be corrected (but not by more of your guesses) |

A miami v8 is a nice bit of gear.. 5.0 secs 0-100km/h is nothing to sneeze at. It can match the LSA and i6t from 4500rpm upwards..
But 95% of driving is done under 4500rpm. This is where the big cube LSA and i6t tear away from the miami v8. The vf GTS is an awesome car, a genuine alternative to an amg e63 or bmw m5. I dont think the fpv cars can lay claim to being such an alternative. |
