Thanks Rodge, I guess you've driven one too. As I stated in some previous thread about these things ... the 5 speed auto box labours through gear selection like an old Borg Warner from 30 years ago. |

However it does not matter as they are fitting 8 speed ZF's in them already in the states ( 8-Speed Auto Transmission with E-Shifter ) so most likely thats what we will get (apart from the SRT-8 version) which still has the 5 speed. http://youtu.be/HRkzk4lE490 http://youtu.be/gzOGppoa13s Last edited by Seduce XR6; 27-05-2012 at 05:31 AM. |

Having watched one of the YouTube videos of the 300C, all I can say is that thing is phenomenal, some of the features that thing has got are amazing, with the mind boggling performance and beauty to match. I must have one!

It was only selling less than 200 a month, I think they were justified in doing it.
Just look at the sales figures for the Caprice, with Statesman and Fairlane dead it pretty much has the market to itself and still only sells around 150 a month. LWB market is dead. |

Im keen to have a gander when they are officially released, and will definately be keen to see what else chrysler may end up offering as a result of the new setup with FIAT.

If you look at the picture it has a picture of the old one and has a quote about how they hate it and the new ones is not far off Not sure what the price of the new one will be, but it probably won't be far off the mark. Since they seam to be dropping price in a hope to get more buyers. Example new Grand Cherokee. You see them everywhere. Apparently the new 300c will not bring the 5.7 to Australia. But they have that engine in the new Grand, so idont see why they wouldn't have the 5.7 |

When I was at high school I was a one eyed Mopar fan. I wanted a worked 360 Charger, or eventually a 426 with some sort of forced induction. But when the time came to buy my first car I bought a 302C XB Fairmont wagon and stuck with Ford. Back in the 80's everyone thought I was a nut, but I'm glad Chrysler have come back with some style and even better muscle. I saw a hot V8 Jeep the other day that just flogged it around the place. Note even revving, just dig in and off with one hell of a loud meaty note that could be heard for about 2km. That's the sort of Mopar we're talking about. I always thought it a pity Ford never went the V8 route with the Territory, or even kept the Turbo 6's. If I went the V8 SUV route it would be a Hemi Jeep for sure. I'd be finally revisiting my high school way of thinking.

After watching the long video about the 300C I can safely say my FG is at least 10 years behind on vehicle technology and design … shame really but I just can’t see the Falcon being able to close the gap with the next update or even the one after … Holden might have a chance with the VF but even that’s looks less likely than likely …

Say "We drive a Fairmont", and everyone knows what you mean. The "letter cars" for Chrysler have a similar appeal (not so much for Australia, but it's growing). In the USA say you drive a 300C, and everyone knows what it is. Imagine if they dropped the letter designation and gave it a name? No one would know what you're talking about. Some car makers vastly underestimate the importance of keeping a certain name going to retain an image...Chysler understood this when they first brought out the 300C, a name which had graced legendary luxury/performance cars in past decades. |

The SRT8 will be around $68K plus on-roads. I've spoken to a dealer but the final equipment list is not available for another couple of weeks. Black Chrome package is about $2500 and I think $1250 for the leather touches to dashboard, console, door arm rests. Dual pane sunroof seems like $3K+
I've done a bit of research and am keen to at least have a test drive. |

I hate to tell you but that chrysler in that youtube video is the smaller 200C. Check the Chrsyler website and you'll see. If you wanna see a cool new 300C in white, already modified. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYmWNhqwqkQ Also in america they have 300C, 300S the 300 SRT8 model aswell. It also come with red leather interior. http://www.chrysler.com/en/2012/300/models/

Like i said "average" not junk, just average, to make a premium quality vehicle it has to start right at the drawing board with a clean sheet design. God bless America! |

Oh and as for JD Powers, well if you trust their opinion more than your own, then best of luck to you. They also like DirecTV, but somehow not everybody is happy with their rip-off pricing. |
