So where can I find a nice single girl who's well into their cars?

I don't care if their car is more powerful than mine, means they won't wanna drive my pride and joy :P

Don't seem to be anywhere near enough ladies into cars here in Adelaide :(

Yeah I get a bit sick of that comment.

I went to get the car inspected for rego in March and the mechanic jumped in it to have a look, so I warned him that it was in gear, if he was going to start it to put it into neutral.
He seemed a bit confused, looked at the rego papers which clearly have MY name on them, and then asked, "Isn't it a bit hard for you to drive?". :

My misses has a Territory and when she takes out my XR8 she loves it. Quote " It's good, 'cause I put my foot down and I'm gone!"

She also likes driving the 351 XB GS!

Are you serious??? Thats not cool... my mechanic asked me when I took the XR8 for a road worthy whether my wife enjoys driving it. I looked at him and said "she drives it more than I do", and he laughs and goes "I'll bet!!!". I don't think he found it unusual that some women like driving high performance cars...

Well I drive an XB Coupe...totally old skool....Just had a 351 toploader put in it and it goes like the ducks guts!!

I took off today out the drive way and the g's held me in my seat....was I scared??

Sure was!! But after 2 seconds I confirmed that I controlled the beast!

We woman race on the track, on the circuit, on anything you can chuck at us! Dont see what being a female has to do with anything...

I have more plums in the car than most men I know...Fast and Furious....obviously titled the movie after they saw me in the car!!

Half the women on AFF I wouldn't bet my house against....they would take me in a second...damn petrol heads!!

There has always been opportunity for all AFF members to race at the AFF events. They offer a chicks bracket (which is poorly supported and mainly cancelled because of very low entries) and the serious women can hold their own in the main event anyway. There are not dozens of women racing cars so the current way the AFF run it is fine.

Look forward to seeing you at our next event where you can see the action for yourself.

Gaela

Dave I am hearing you and it also means an extra car to transport...... ;)

Like most of the other posts I too have a wife that is into cars, motorsport and anything with an engine (probably a bit of an understatement to those who know her ) She actually got me involved in car clubs and motorsport and certainly gives me a run for my money on the track (dependant of what car we are driving). I think that it is great and there are many envious people around us as most weekends we are either doing something with one of the car clubs or watching/participating in motorsport in one form or another............

just had to add I just got chewed terribly from the missus because and i quote "that car is damn filthy, go and wash it will ya" she seems to hate it being unclean more than me, which is pretty difficult I keep it pretty clean 98% plus of the time. She seems very interested in its cleanliness at the very least

Shucks,....... thanks Col :P

I only wished I lived closer to the track. At least the Sprint is a goer again & I will be getting down there again soon I hope.

I do have the girley car too as I have to travel through roo infested forest roads to get to work but I have to admit it feels like coming home when I get into the drivers seat of the Sprint

Have had to bring the big girl to work this week so am enjoying the morning run..... driving home at 70-80k's an hour home is a bit boring though ..... Damn roos :

Default Females and performance cars

My wife loves performance cars and drives a terrority ghia turbo and loves it when little boys in their buzz boxes try to race her and she also gets to drive my supercharged g t p which I have no problem giving her to drive as she has no issue with me spending our hard earned on all 400 rwkw of it the face of these little hot shots when she takes off is priceless cheers

I got tired of women only brackets. Don't get me wrong they are okay to get women started in the sport who feel intimidated by men, but after a while if you can't mix it with everyone else... you are just faking it!

Oh and I much prefer working on cars than racing them now anyway! I still think I have my 302 just because of the noise it makes straight out of the headers....

And Kev has been kind enough to let me drive the XR8 on several occassions... apparently I'm not as sedate as him on certain twisty roads

Owing to being 'between jobs' my wife had to hand back the company territory so has takenover the TS50 for a while as her daily.

She likes it, (apart from the no reverse camera) but is worried about some numbskull scratching it at the shops or whatever.

Not a member here, but Michele Guyer is pretty impressive with her March 87B. She does a lot of sprints, hillclimbs and races. She has even set at least one hillclimb record.
