That's a manual price. That's what we have sold them for. and that's what you will pay and you know when your new XR8 will be in your driveway. straight up front. sorry but I don't put the price on the car all I can do is make it as cheap as I can as we are in the country not in the city.

I was quoted a similar price to this for a mid to late 2015 delivery
Hence my order went elsewhere for a fair clip less. I understand supply and demand, but at full margin for $52490 (plus o/r and paint) there's a fair few dealers really taking advantage. Not directed at anyone here, just an observation

I really don't get what all the fuss is about: this dealer has the car and there's possibly a market out there that will pay that amount. If not, then the dealer will eventually drop his price to the point where the car goes goes.
It is his right to ask whatever price he wants for it. No different to any of us selling our cars on carsales. Sure, he may be dreaming, but it is his risk. If you think that price is offensive, take yourself to the next dealer and so-forth until you find one that you can strike a deal with. Craig H

Issue is that I don't think dealers want to sell them hence the high price. They want to keep one on the yard for people to look at.
If you look on car sales the same cars are still there they are not selling, then you look at the thread with the poll and there is over 100 of people waiting and I'm guessing out of those 100 not many of them paid anywhere near the price they are asking for in those ads. George |

In my mind the 19 unsold XR8s on Carsales atm would represent 25%-30% of the Dec 14 build..................besides now being last years model, what happened to the sell like hot cakes Hero car? Are buyers pulling out?

At 65K the XR8 is no longer the mid-50s “Value GT” everyone was raving on about. In my mind the mid-60s price bracket is a totally different ball game to a mid-50s price bracket.
Then there is the runout SSV Redlines and Clubspot R8s selling for much less than RRP … and all of the sudden the XR8 at its current price tag does not seem so hot anymore. I would be really interested in knowing the actual number of XR8s sold so far … I recon that number would be very very low.

Hi All,
I said yes to the new fg x xr8 on the 4th of December 2014. Was told by the dealer would get a 2015 plated model in February 2015. looking forward to it. Don't be surprised about the price. When I started inquiring (in WA) was given quotes of $75k, $69 and $68. Was told no way are you getting it for the recommended price...to rare. One dealer believed he was getting 8 in two years. So rang around and got a decent dealer and snaffled up his second one. he confirmed most dealers initially got two only and got what they were given by ford. even colours were a mystery. Anyhow a big 'up ya' to Geraldton Ford WA who I reckon gave me a fair and reasonable deal considering the prices I was quoted and am seeing now. Total paid $61605, manual, smoke - drive away. $54690 = sale price $1590 = accessories/options (window tints etc) free fusion int protection. $1995 = dealer charge $874.85 = dealer discount $57400.15 = Total price. The kicker comes from the government Stamp Duty $3554.85 Rego $650. Am absolutely froffing for the car to arrive. Cannot wait. Total (again) $61605. |

In reality there is about 10 cars, the other ads are just generic ones.

Thomson Ford Parramatta.
Can highly recommended the dealership. Did a great job of getting the car ready, and organising delivery on Christmas eve.

Fellas I need your salient advice/opinions.
The dealer made a blue and ordered an automatic. He has spoken to his boss and they reckon it has been built so no changing. Delivery date is 28/2 though. So not sure why so long for delivery if it has been built. Anyways.... Is there some recourse for me to take...or because I signed the contract that is it? What day think of the automatic? I would prefer a manual for various reasons least of all that is what a muscle car needs. Thoughts. Is anyone in WA keen on a smoke automatic - 61605. The dealer gets his next allocation in three weeks. You would pick it up in geraldton. Thanks in advance for advise. |

If it's not what you want you won't be happy.
The auto while great, to get the most out of the XR8 I would stick with the manual. If your only going to cruise and in allot of traffic day to day then go the auto. George |

I know geo but seems like in a bind. I live rural 600kilometres from Perth. Plenty of road to open up on.
good point disgrace as I do feel I am getting something else. problem is going elsewhere will mean paying more. in wa two on car sales are 75 and 69k each, for automatics and no bells and whistles yet - the 75 excludes on road costs. Geraldton Ford still gave me a sweet deal although the order has been botched. I will stick with them and hopefully this can be resolved otherwise I'm stuck with the automatic. 61605 is spot on I reckon for a 2015 plated xr8 - tinting, dash mat, floor mats, luggage compartment rubber mat, steering wheel cover and fusion interior protection. delivers 28/2. |
