There's been no real music since John Bonham died and Ozzy left Sabbath.

Hell Freezes Over is a possible exception.

Never heard of a greaser. Back then you were either 'Mod' (clean cut type) or 'Rocker' (Brylcream and leather jacket) so you would have been a Rocker.

I wanted late 70's early 80's but I had to go for the '70s.

As for the poll at hand, im really into punk rock, the godfathers of the particualr style i like being NOFX... and the record company spawned by NOFX head, Fat Mike nurtured the style into what it has become today.

My life was never the same after that fateful day on 1995 when i sat down and listened to that NOFX CD. So, will always be the 90s for me. But not the chart music of that decade. urgh.

No, it was a serious question, don't worry I will look him up on wikipedia.
Oh, Led Zepplin guy, I only know Stairway to Heaven. I know Jimmy Page played gituar. I am slowly reading a book called "rock n Roll Babylon" that has them all in it.

Yello, Depeche Mode, The The, Propoganda, OMD, U2, Police, Midnight Oil, Stan Ridgeway, the pogues, Weddngs Parties Anything, all 80s bands.

Im also a HUGE Pink Floyd/Roger Waters Fan.
However Pink Floyd were really a 60s/70s band, by the 80s they were in disarray and tearing themselves apart. The only studio album they recorded in th 80s (final cut) was outtakes and leftovers from The wall (79) with a few extra tracks. And really was a Roger Waters album, with help from Nick and Dave (no Rick). OH I guess AMLoR can slip in, but it was a DAve Gilmour project with haelp from RIck and Nick, and was far from "At their best"

The Wall came out in 1979. It was the first album I ever bought. The first single was Dancing Queen by Abba (1976) which I still have, lol. (I was 7 btw)

Nothing wrong with ABBA (videos) but why did ruin all the vids with those two blokes on stage as well ?

i said the 00's ... BUT i still like some of the old school bands: When i was growing up in the 90's i think the spice girls ruled it for girls. =]lol.

but i still like bands that my dad listens to:

Fleetwood mac [im named after one of their songs]
Alice cooper
Black sabbath
America

but i still keep in with the punk scene now:
Green Day [[biiiig favourite]]
My chemical romance
Atreyu

meh. but i absolutely HATE techno. =\

As for music 1970s there was nothing good done after 1979.

You can beat the 80's for awsome rock (Metallica ,Motley Crue etc) and power balads . Sometimes i think i was born at the wrong time (born in 81) cause i didnt get into music till my teens and ninetys music was crap! the 80's is the only way to go.

i had to go 70s but i like bands from most eras (im mainly counting when bands were founded and/or in their prime). seeing as its 2am and im bored as, ill list some of my favourites.

60's - Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Cream, Creedence, The Doors, Neil Young

70's - Led Zep, Sabbath, Skynyrd, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Queen, Bowie

80's - Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Motorhead, Ozzy, Van Halen

90's - Rage Against The Machine, Guns N Roses, Kyuss, Smashing Pumpkins, Pantera

00's - Queens Of The Stone Age, Black Label Society

Some of these were hard to confine to one decade, in fact most of them probably have several albums i like outside the decade i put them under. except metallica they havent put out a good record since justice for all IMO, though in saying that theyre still one of my all time favourites, those first four albums were all classics i reckon.

I voted 70s ... prefer the music from that era ... only like some of the 80's music ... most of the 80s was tragic though ... very tragic.

But the best music was from the 70s.

I do like a wide variety though with some music from each era ... but enjoyed 70's the most.

That's what is the most easily accessable, I guess that's why.

As for my vote, I think there are awesome songs from each era.

70s.

I cant really see much music of the last decade being seen as "classics" in decades to come, compared to the 70s... but who knows....
