How about you start a thread trying to organise this get together.......instead of continually hijacking other persons threads.
Seriously. |

did i walk through this 'new' airport and not notice ? i flew into Adelaide about 6 weeks ago, the layout was pretty good, small in comparison to what i'm used to, but pretty functional with coffee shops etc etc.
was it re-vamped, or is it a whole new location ??

The "new" airport is still in the same spot as always.... but its a new building, which is several hundred metres NE of the "old" building. Same runways etc still used. Yes it's small... but remember it's Adelaide we're talking about... population 1mil... And it was indeed contaminants in the fuel lines which delayed its opening by almost 8 months IIRC. Fine by me... i can only assume those engines are a bit fussy about what's in the fuel tank

If i've got the first flight into melbourne on a weekday morning, looking at 50 bucks to get from the airport to the CBD. Maybe 40 on a quiet evening. To get from burnside to adelaide airport is $20 or $30 in traffic! Taxi from the CBD to ad airport will get you change from a 20. My old man used to live just under the flight path near marion rd. A bit noisy for the first few planes, dont even notice it after a while..

sydney will only get bigger again come 2010 when the knock down hangar 96 and extend the domestic terminal, as well as pull down hangars 131, 191, 245 and 271 (all qantas ones) and build the dual lane taxiway

Anybody got views about Jetstar? I want to go to Melb. and I'd rather be dumped at Avalon 'coz I'll be heading straight down the Geelong road over the bridge to Kingsway and St Kilda etc. Seems pointless flying into Tulla. |

Jetstar is always chaper too! Go direct to their site though to check fare prices, as i've found the flightcentre "check every site" tool sometimes misses the fares. Also webjet is a good site for checking all the fares of all airlines.

When I saw this thread I was like wtf? YPAD hasn't moved.
It is about time T1 (very original name I must say) became operational, with the automated docking systems which are standard everywhere else, just so much more efficient. Quite impressive new tin shed.
