Chemical applicator,
$20 an hour cash,
Harder to get money out of my boss than... anything!
Been at the Aurora, 65+ stories in Brisbane, lately,
but we go to various sites, and do chemical applications to strenghten, and seal concrete. Lots of Woolies and Coles Stuff, and epoxies on liquorland stores.
Not happy owed $900+, but usually its ok.

WHERE DO YOU WORK? Perth and Metro for myself
WHERE BOUTS? WA
HOW MUCH YOU MAKE? enough
ARE YOU HAPPY THERE? I think so, I have 850 Bosses (clients) to keep happy, 10 employees to pay and 8 machines to keep running.

Im with Malakai, I want to call in at end of the day and say " I am knocking off now Boss" see ya.

Its all good realy, but never as rosy as you think when self employed and responsible for your employees.

....lots of people earn a lot of money, it's not really a good indicator of anything. Any clown can make and spend money.

The real question is what assets have you acquired ie "what are you worth"?

It will also give the old farts a chance to step up to the crease

Quite true ronwest..... its all about assets - I own outright 4 cars, own outright 2 houses in Sydney, have an investment unit on the Gold Coast been paid off by the lovely tenants. Then there are things like 50" and 42" plasma's, 167cm rear projection tv, pool table, $3000 lounge, $2500 dining table and everything else. Just because you might own a lot things doesnt make any difference just mean you went with out something else. Young person might drink and smoke and buy drugs with all of their money doesnt make them worth anything less. A lot of people can't afford to get a deposit together to buy a house, it's not their problem. What are they worth ??? maybe quite a lot now, but I am sure the BA wont be worth the $37,000 I paid for it in 1 year time. Sure the XA's are worth a lot, but with increasing fuel prices no one will be buying cars let alone old v8's. Maybe XY GT will come down and I could afford to buy one soon.

OK I'll bite. You are right assets are usually the best indicator of success in the wealth arena. And I am an old fart. I earnt a tad over 300K last financial year. I own investment properties in Cooktown, Brisbane, Yea, Pingelly, and in Melbourne. I have 4 cars but these are not what I would consider assets. They are liabilities. An asset works for you, you work for a liability. I have a rather badd addiction that costs me lots called aviation. Its my heroin. But at least I never leave used needles in the sand!!!

Peace all.

Maybe, but I'm sure this thread wasn't started a as an indicator of "I've got more than you, so I'm better than you" boasting competition thread. Now why would the general public be interested in how much money someone has in the bank, what shares they have, what property they own, etc etc, unless it is going to turn into a competition with what they have/own?

Tregoning Engineering.
About $53k a year before overtime.

...and I didn't assume that it was. I also didn't feel the need to contribute to the score

There will be those who consider a good wage = success. I've been around long enough to realise that its all very nice when you are young and the trappings seem important but it's less important as you get older.

In any event, I was merely pointing out that it's not hard to earn good money.

I did start this thread as I was interested in what ppl do, I don't earn a fortune, I'm in my late twenties and slugged my guts out as a labourer for $9.00 an hour back when I was 18, got my fork ticket and it nearly doubled (all thanks to joining a union) if you work out my base hourly rate from my salary I would be quite happy to jump back on a fork and stack cartons just to avoid all the stress I endure in my day to day job of pushing pens around answering phones, email and faxes etc...

If anyone has endured the art of fleet control of timeslotting ex wharf then I'm sure you'll argee that it can be very trying at times...

PPL realise this ....its not what you own or make....its how you live your life....."what good should it profit a man if he were to own the world ...but lose his soul."
