You could look at this 2 ways:
either 1) Holden don't really care about concept cars either
or 2) they've lost it and are in big trouble if they're relying on it to create sales...
Then again a "riced up" old holden would be in line with their import content on their new ranges too!!! :evil_laug :evil_laug

Before anyone gets upset it just my opinion!!!! :

Speaking of the SSR ute, I saw one on the back of a tow truck a few days ago. If I remember corrently it was a maroony/purple color. Looked awesome.

An old FJ on a Crappadore chassis, big deal. Holden must really be running out of ideas.

I can appreciate the effort that goes into design as an art form but really they're only there to drag people onto the stand to sell them on the current range.
What a contradiction! First you say its a waste of time.... then you say its got a purpose to drag people to their stand. EXACTLY their point. Get the media on them, and promote their name. It is all part of marketing... getting their image and branding right, and looking at ideas they can use for the future.

Ford should learn something from Holden. Unless Ford surprise us with a Focus ST or something of the like, i dont see the Ford stand being too appealing, apart from a new GT. Honestly, why cant they make one off concept cars? Holden had the Monaro Convertible, Torana, Sandman, SSX, Elfins... all great concept cars that got the attention to their stand!

Yep, the new BF Falcon and the Mitsubishi 380...

Ever heard of the Predator, Xplod XR8, R5, R7 etc.

And yes the Focus ST will be on the Ford stand.

Were they out there and unique?

Yea, holden had the CrossX8 too.... Maybe Holden is just better at concepts?

Fiesta ST was on the stand last year... did nothing for Ford.... If this year is the same, the people working there will know NOTHING about the Focus ST.

Yes, I'll eat my last words on the subject. I'm no fan of FJ's but I'll have that one!!! Although nothing that original the designers have done a great job.

Not exactly an original concept, but a very well done to Holden.

A CUSTOM!

Here's ZZ Tops (Biily Gibbons) Cadzilla for those too young or ignorant to know about it. A Hot Wheels model anyway, I can't believe I can't find a decent image on google.
