Heck.. they're doing Barra transplants into R32/R33 Skylines even. There's even a genuine R32 GTR with a Barra transplant! Gone waaay off topic. Sorry. |

I'd hate to see the pricing of a replacement engine with the billet bits.
But I think in the case of wanting a reliable Rotory with the newer-spec MUCH stronger apex seals. Maybe. But if you do, you sometimes have to spend the $ to do it properly. There are a few videos around about Promaz ... I think FullBoost did a series on it. FDs are silly money ... but a very desirable car in the same token. I think a lot of the issues with factory ones are owners not maintaining them ... or allowing for the longer warmup times required of them. The sarcasm laugh I used ... was making it sound really simple ... but it comes to $$$$$ If you really want it though ... people will pay it. Or find a cheap MX5 ... and covert it to Rotary ... next best thing. Yes over the top ... but shows the quality of parts and the work involved for a relatively indestructible rotary

Yeah the RX8 is a very good car imo. Underrated.
I'd prefer an Rx7 but their price is just insane and I can't afford one anyway!!! All reviews suggest they are a time bomb regardless how treated (this one perfect history etc) |

There actually not to bad the Mazda's. Picked up a 2020 CX9 Azami for the wife and we love it. Jam packed with tech and driving aids and the interior and exterior is fantastic looking.
It goes pretty good for a 2 tonne SUV, I must say.

Ours is 4WD, I have a towbar on it but I'm not sure on the tow capacity.. The engine is only 4cyl 2.5lt Turbo Petrol. (good enough for the wife) It's not too bad speed wise for a 2.5T, especially with 4 of us, 2 pugs and 2 tonne worth of metal it has to push forwards. Not a bad unit those CX-9's.
