I could never figure that one out................it's probably got more to do with many journos having over generous proportions than anything else, sitting on the bolsters, rather than in them. Cheers Mick |

I'd say part of the gap between them would be due to reaction time, as 13.2 vs 13.4 is certainly not 3 or 4 car lengths that we see in the video. Lots of wheelspin from at least one of them too and only 3km/h between them at the end, so they're closer than the video might suggest. Regardless, both are pretty slow, boosted Falcons still own the drag strip.

Probably. I like where I sit in the Falcon, although yes, some more movement in the steering column wouldn't go astray. I can imagine it's a problem for shorter people, but then they probably have their seat more forward too.

Same could be said if they did a Stang v Sprint test...I like these comparisons, both V8, both RWD, both similar in size so why not. The segment is too small to have an apple vs apple comparison.

Yesterday I parked my Redline Ute a couple of bays away from a black Mustang in the empty carpark behind our local shopping strip.
It was a beautiful car and I did have a smile on my face when I saw the driver was probably older than my great grandfather. When I got out I said to him through the window how nice it looked and he totally ignored me, he must have thought I said, give me all your money. When I came back with the bread and scones he was outside the car with a woman who I’m guessing was his wife and she was taking photos of my Ute. I said if I knew there was going to be a photo shoot I would have washed her and all he said was, “where did you buy those wheels?” I told him and said what a stunner the Mustang was and he said thank you and they got back in their car. Strange because if it had been mine I would have spent the next hour talking about it to anyone interested in listening. And wow didn’t it look big next to my little Ute. Anyway that black Mustang sitting next to my Redline in the carpark did look much faster and that will probably be the closest I’ll ever get to experience its power. |

Got a bit weary when the guy in the Stang didn't want to turn the tires to warm them up a little, especially when it was clearly struggling for traction at the start of the video. Seemed to walk away from the Commy, though. Down on cubes, up on acceleration.

Street rubber on drag tracks I wouldn't warm either, to much heat they go doughy and don't stick like a drag radial will..
Many times you will a guy say I have less traction at the track than I have on the street..

You can't really compare these cars. One is a 2 door sports car and the other is a 4 door family sedan.

It was a decent race but personally I don't like the look of the mustang.
I would take a ve/vf commodore anyday if I had to choose. Just my opinion. You couldn't notice 2 tenths at the traffic lights on Albany highway(60km limit) on the way to carousel for a sumo salad anyhow. |

Hand on heart, I have never had any issue at all with current falcon driving position and am always mildy bemused and a little annoyed when these reviewers go on about it. makes me wonder if they mean it or if they're just copying haters before them and giving the same 'ol same 'ol. Commodore or Falcon - I'd happily take either for a drive 'round Australia and get out refreshed at every stop along the way. Too sad for words we're losing these two monumentally talented and value laden vehicles. I have a strange detachment sometimes when trying to think of the landscape in 2018 and beyond and seeing how people and thinkgs fare that now depend on the traits and qualities of these two cars - like police . . . and most people here!
