I often put polls on threads I start about subjects that may involve strong "enthusiasm" on the part of some members.

On this forum there are many strong personalities who can and sometimes do override others.

On a poll everyone is equal, we all have one vote. I also make them visible to all as I believe that if you have an opinion then you should stand up for it and be counted.

I cannot recall any poll I have started where there was a right or wrong, they are all designed to start discussion on a subject and maybe enlighten someone to others points of view and from where they are derived.
