wanted a RWD bigger car with a 6cyl, looked at commodores vt-vy but wanted something with more than 150kw that didnt feel like it was going to vibrate and shake itself apart over 3000rpm

looking back it was definitely the better choice but i do wish i had looked at aristo's a bit more since the insurance was only a couple hundred extra a year and was twin turbo

In 94' got my first car at age of 16, Mk1 Escort 2 door manual. Young, dumb and full of...... burnouts.

for me i was looking at upgrading from the ea i had and walked into a car yard looking at AU's but i fell in love with the EL that was sitting next to it but it had to many ks on it

The owner from the yard asked me what i was after and when i told him EL or AU he took me out the back and showed me the 98 EL sapphire in alaskin frost (the one in my avater) and i fell in love right there 3 days later it was parked in my drive way and the mods havnt stopped since and looking at doing more

Back in the day when I was 17 in 1996 (I think it was) I saw a write up in the paper of the XH Falcon Splash ute. I read about it and it said it Fords target ute for the younger generation and I kinda liked it.
It must have stuck in my mind coz in 2000 I needed a ute and my mate had an XF ute which i really liked and by then the AU had been released so I thought I should by the last of the style side Falcon utes and keep in in good nick as I always saw dented ones.
Took me a few months but I finally found a nice manual white Longreach at a dealer and bought it...It looks a lot different now!
And I still love it.

I had a BA XR6 the hand brake was always playing up .I had hoildays and I got a bit bored,so I went car shopping came out with my BA GT ,I know it would of been cheaper to get the hand brake fixed again,but I thought wow I like it,at first I thought its a bit bright ,but now I wouldn`t part with her.My bonnet Decals say it all ."'kims Boss'' she`s got me under control

my family have always had fords etc etc but This is my third falcon was after a cruisy car this one came along with the rebel kit which I have always loved and nice mags....previous owner?? My year 10 maths teacher! Haha

I had an XR5 focus which was a peice of crap. Worst car I've ever owned. It was too small as well, so time to get rid of it for a bigger car. Had 3 cars on the list. BF, FG and the Mondeo. By the time I started to option the FG with what I wanted, it became a very expensive car. BF's were still well priced. Mondeo had it all included from factory as standard and was better priced. Small change over too. So I bought the Mondeo. I've not regretted the decision at all.

Parents didn't let me have a Falcon, and I wanted something less derivative than a Corolla or Laser. PS: I drive a Riceboy Honda Integra. Will trade for a Falcon wagon.

I've been a Ford fan since Dad got me an XD, which was in pretty poor condition, and we were going to do it up as a project together.
Realised that it would take too much effort to fix, only to have me probably hit things in carparks and stuff, so I got a '79 XD Ghia when I got my licence, and put the project away.

Saw a BA in Blueprint, and decided then and there I had to have one.

Really wanted the XR6T, but as long as it was Blueprint and a manual, then I'd settle for whatever I could find.
Saved up, found the one, paid in cash.

Been in love ever since.

Went shopping one day back in 2000 or 2001 for an SS Commodore and bought an AU1 XR8 manual because it was $5k cheaper than any Commodore I could find of the same year (1998/99). Have had fords ever since (a lot of them, including 5 or 7 or something AUs).

Well if its for my current daily, I wanted to get back into an AU3 xr8. Having lost my last one in an accident a few years back. Still puts a smile on my face every day. One very special criteria it met was that it was NOT silver. Last 3 AUs i owned were friggin silver. Ugh.

As for my other current Fords, well im just a nutter who loves V8 Fords that are older than me. The Ford ive always wanted is still not in my garage, but that day will come soon.

Dad has always been a Ford man and particularly fond of V8s. I grew up doing most of my driving in a sporty/luxury 4 cyl turbo hatch. Went ok but I hated the lag.

So naturally I was drawn to the naturally aspirated grunt of a V8. I'm also the type of person who prefers the sound of the car rather than use the stereo, can't deny that the 8 makes a fantastic noise, which I describe as music.

Prefer the look of the Falcon utes compared to the sedans, always have. Also two seats means that it can only carry one ********wit who doesn't have the respect to not scuff their shoes in and out of my vehicle which I go to considerable effort to keep looking its best.

Several reasons I bought the XR8 over a SS based on practicality, way it drove, and aesthetics.

Haha easy to answer, i needed a car to tow my mates commodore every time it broke down, hence i needed torque FORD was the best choice, ohh and dad has always owned fords and valiants.

Was a holden man back in the 80s but refused to be seen dead in a poxy crummydore, hated them from the day they were born and still don't like them so when my trusty HX ute was finally dead and I needed a wagon for the family so there was really only one choice, it had to be a falcon. 3 wagons later the AU has been faithful and low maintenance so when I went looking for a replacement for my old faithful NF 'lane I chose the AU Sportsman cos I always liked the look of them and they just say "Class".

I had been a holden man since i could drive, even had a brock dunnydoor. In the 90's my job had me driving both fords and holdens, at the start i refused to drive the fords, (I really was that biased) eventually i drove a ford and was suprised by there equipment levels and comfort. Eventually i had a chance to buy an ef falcon and loved it, recently my son needed a car and wasnt able to afford one so i gave the ef to him, and went looking for an XR8 (Time to rekindle my passion for the V8) I set off looking but the finances wouldn't go there , so I was thought it was over and i'd be driving the wife's forester, then lady luck smiled upon me with a 02 v8 fairmont and wow what a nice car. This is on my keep list as it has all the things a ageing grey haired rev head could want

At the time I only had my XF, wanted something reliable, quick and fun, suitable for longer trips and most importantly with AIRCON

XE Fairmont Ghia ESP 302/4 speed...... ticked all the boxes, but was rough and from an inspection, needed a couple of grand spent on it within 18 months or so with regular driving

HSV VP SV91 Build #002, 185kw 5.0L/Auto, known history, Holden's display car at the Sydney motor show in 1991 and the first production SV91, affordable, looked good and was seriously looking at handing over the cash till.....

ED XR8 Sprint, Blue, V8, Cruise, AIRCON, was very anonymous and most importantly, a MANUAL.......

I'm a P plater with an 09 Fiesta, because everything good in the under $20,000 bracket is banned for the next 4 years haha. Plus it has a big *** FORD badge on the front.

My daily is a 05 Mitsubishi Challenger. I bought it cause I needed a 4WD to tow my dirtbike into the bush and I love it. Jacked it up, put some muddies on and injected gas. Went the Challenger as its not to big but still capable off road and the old man works for Mitsubishi so got it for cost.

As for the Mustang, as I said wanted one since I was 6. It had to be a 69 and was originally after a fast back but the missus talked me round to the convertable which is better for the pose factor I spose. Found a matching numbers completely original car in great nic with minimal rust and had to have it. Just got a new 351 for it a month ago to replace the tired 302 which will be rebuilt and kept for originality.

20+ years ago i saw a yellow 2 door RS2000 at traffic lights and fell in love, so i built one. 9 years ago i drove the 220kw XR8 and fell in love with the noise it made. i got mine last year and couldnt be happier (except it is special Ford "Fadey Red")

It must have been 1969 when we drove to Perth in the MkII Zephyr, because I was four years old. I don't remember much about it but the story goes the only problem on the whole trip was a flat tyre a mile from home in Adelaide. There was an XM sedan for a few years, then the mighty XY wagon. What a smoothie. Each of those cars did the usual family duties as well as frequent camping trips, towing a trailer and loaded with kids & crap. And they went places most people wouldn't take a 2WD these days. They were all maintained and repaired by Dad at home. We were a Ford family; a can-do family and proudly so.

So after years of um, "other" motoring (including bikes) I upgraded from a Triton to a Falcon ute last year. On one level it was pure function. With petrol prices trending north, I figured LPG was the go. A Falcon was the only ute that would run gas and still have the grunt to tow a decent load. I could have got a BA but after a lot of research I decided a good AU3 would be better sorted. Not only has it done the job but it's been the first car I've actually enjoyed driving for years. And I even enjoy working on it. Never thought I'd say that again. Kinda feels like being back in the family.

I wanted something that had a bit of grunt to tow stuff, a comfy car on long trips and something I could sleep in. rather than buying a landcruiser, i opted for something a lil city friendly.

my family always had fords ! my first car was a EL a bit problomatic then time came around i wanted a newer car wanted a FG but a bit out of my buget so i setteld for a BF 2.5 xr6 , it was in my budget, i loved the colour and loves the way it glues it self to the road for a budget car i couldnt go wrong and you cant wipe the smile of my face when i drive my falcon

Well I use to be a dedicated holden boy when growing up and then one day was going past a few cars on the side of the road for sale when I saw my first real love. It was to be my very first car, a very tidy XF panelvan that was shaved, lowered, had mags, tint etc. That afternoon I picked it up. From there on I discovered just how reliable the old fords were and my love grew. I then inherited a 67 XR wagon and my interest in older fords began. After 2 years of driving, the panelvan was being overtaken by rust so I traded my dirtbike for a vn commodore. This cemented my love for fords as the commodore was the dodgiest piece of crap I had ever owned. From there I sold both cars and bought myself my current daily driver which is a series 2 EF Fairmont Ghia. I had been looking at a few EFs for quite some time when this beauty popped up. I fell in love with the fancy leather interior and electronics and the tickford 6 was the deal sealer. I have had the EF for 2 and a half years and spent a bit of money making it to my liking and after plenty of abuse and long kms travelled she still goes as strong as ever. I love it!!!

Then the v8 bug hit me. I had been toying with the idea of getting a good XD, XE or another XF. Then by luck my brother spotted a for sale add on a notice board at the shops. A tidy 1984 XE Fairmont that had a become home to a warm 351 clevo and with rego it was a steal. After a few days it came home with me.

These days I am a dedicated FORD man although I still love alot of other cars.

I don't know, i just ended up with them.. Hung around older dude's with GT's so snapped up $3k Cosmic Blue as a young fella.. BA GT was my dream.. walking in and buying a brand new one, played tick the box make it as close to the Cosmic as i could, sunroof, colour etc.. Pottery Beige was a mate's car i went with him to buy in country vic, he done his thing, went drag racing etc, alway's hassled him if he wanted to sell. One day he said yes, couldn't stand the thought of anyone else owning it as i had been there since day one. Got it for mate's rate's.. korean car money.... Wish i was into stamp collecting, much bloody cheaper.. me much bloody richer..
