I'm not saying there's not stuff out there we don't understand. The truths of the universe and our existence are so far beyond our understanding that it's crazy. But I won't be loosing any sleep over this.

The world won't end until:
  • Interest Rates hit 1%;
  • Fat guys are sexy....... again;
  • Ford sorts out it's warranty;
  • Australia goes back to //;
  • And they make a 'Real Doll" that can cook & clean;
Don't quit work and sell up to live the life of a promiscuous travelling hobbo just yet boys :(

Finally, proof that not having sex, living at your mums until 40 and watching too much Star Trek causes a dillusional belief that the world will end.

Both of these theories have been around for a while although it's only been the last few years people have been trying to link them. I looked into both of them and came to two conclusions:
1. The Mayan calender doesn't end in 2012, it simply goes back to day 1 and starts the cycle over. Unlike our modern Gregorian calender which synchronises every leap year, the Mayan calender is far more complex (and accurate) and doesn't synchronise for a few thousand years (I forget the exact figure) so it lays out evey date until it synchronises again....which will happen in 2012.
2. Either Planet X is a crock or NASA and every other astonomy observatory on the planet (including amatuer astronomers) have some explaining to do. I'm leaning towards the former...after all, it's well past April, 2003 and no sign of a Red Cross in the skies yet

The best one I heard was that sometime in the year 2000, the magnetic forces resulting from the alignment of the earth, Jupiter and the sun would cause the earth's poles to switch (ie earth tips upside down) and cataclysmic natural disasters would destroy the human race as we know it.
