Visited the HSV website to find there is hardly any Commodore related info standing out anymore.
A little link down the bottom of the page. Strange seeing they haven’t finished building them yet. Plenty there for the Camaro which they haven’t started building yet.

We're in for interesting times. I wonder now if GM will end up bothering with a RHD Camaro when maybe it makes better financial sense for Corvette to right hand drive markets .The conversion method could be it for Camaro.
Who knows ?. Then again Ford aren't likely to do the fancy GT 350R or GT 500's for us directly either . Going by this Motor write up about 18 months ago the best we get is the standard GT but with the special kits available at a pretty big jump in prices going by the article..https://www.motormag.com.au/news/160...d-in-australia I suppose the FTE fits in there somewhere now. |

Question,
If Holden is selling Camaro as new RHD product, does that prevent the importers competing with them? I think that was the case with the current Mustang..... Also thinking along the HSV lines, Could Ford import LHD GT350s and have FPV do conversions with factory RHD bits? Just a thought if interest builds up enough... GT350 goes down the line with all the rest and leaves Flat rock complete. The Shelby you're thinking of is the Supersnake, that car is modded at Shelby and sold as their car. |

Yeah they are making it handle better onroad because hardly anyone takes 4x4 utes offroad these days.
Considering every second duel cab ute is driven like a sports car on the road, having better suspension would be a good thing. Also a better engine will be useful because most owners will actually use the engine to it's full capability. Usually every time the left lane ends. Side note I'm loving the retro 90's steering wheel too. |

If only Ford still built RHD F250, a crew cab XLT Diesel for $90K would clean up. |

Considering there was a market for 90k+ HSVs then I would say there is also a market for a 90k SS Camaro. Similar performance to the LSA Commodores too.
Will be nice to see Camaros on the roads with Mustangs. HELLO Chrysler.....where are the Dodges....

You'd have to have rocks in your head to pay an extra 30k for a Camaro over a 2018 Mustang.

Ironic how thousands of people have bought the inferior current model Mustang when they could have waited 2 years and bought the next model which is far superior, yet buying a current model camaro, which must come with the cost of conversion or wouldn't be an option, is a poor decision and buyers should wait for the factory RHD model in 2 years. |

Who are you to judge. 10 years ago people thought nothing of dropping 600k on a relic which is now worth 2/3 of that and that was considered wise investment. When questioned it was justified because those people with that money could afford to do so. People will pay millions for a **** hole in inner Sydney when a better place can be had an hour away for a fraction of the price. Were not talking 19,990 drive away specials here, people with 100k for a Commodore can very much afford 90k for a camaro, doesnt mean they have rocks between their ears. |

I suppose the sticking point, price wise, is that 100k on a Commodore got you the pinnacle of performance and bragging rights. Similar money on a Camaro gets you a mid spec model, similar in vein the Mustang GT, except for a 30k premium. A Camaro at that level is not 30k better than a Mustang.
The thing will sell no doubt about it and for GM fans it at least gives them an option. Its just not the bargain Mustang has proven to be.

So is Mustang GT equipped with the premium pack and performance pack, the ones selling for 60K. Only the GT350 and soon GT500 are positioned higher.

No,,mustanghas a weird mishmash of those I believe. One reason why direct price comparisons aren't really accurate.
